As a strategic and execution-focused leader, you will partner closely with Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, HR, and Business Systems to translate compensation plans into scalable system logic, strengthen data integrity across Salesforce and downstream systems, and build an auditable, high-performing commissions operation that scales with the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end administration of global commission programs, including monthly, quarterly, and annual payout cycles.
  • Own CaptivateIQ configuration, plan implementation, calculation logic, statement design, and ongoing system optimization.
  • Partner with Sales Strategy and Sales Operations to operationalize compensation plans, quotas, hierarchies, credits, and exception policies.
  • Oversee data integrity and reconciliation across Salesforce, CaptivateIQ, payroll, finance, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant commission payouts, including approvals, adjustments, and payroll file submission.
  • Design and maintain controls, audit trails, documentation, and governance processes to support internal and external review.
  • Lead commission inquiries and dispute resolution processes, driving transparency, service levels, and continuous improvement.
  • Build reporting and analytics on payouts, attainment, commission expense, trends, and operational performance.
  • Lead and develop the global commissions team while driving automation, process improvement, and scalable operating practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in sales compensation, commissions, finance operations, revenue operations, or related roles, including leadership experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience with CaptivateIQ, including plan setup, calculations, workflows, statements, and payout processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce data structures, sales crediting, hierarchy management, and commission-related data governance.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, HR, Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, and Business Systems in a global environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills with the ability to manage large data sets and complex commission logic.
  • Experience improving commission controls, audit readiness, documentation, and process automation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive alignment and execution across teams.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
