The Director of Procurement will lead Vanta’s global procurement function, shaping strategy, managing high-profile negotiations, and driving operational excellence as a key business partner across the company. This role is highly visible and will have a direct impact on cost savings, scalability, and long-term growth.
What you’ll do as a Director of Procurement at Vanta:
Lead and scale Vanta’s global procurement function, overseeing multimillion-dollar vendor negotiations and managing strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract strategy.
Own global procurement programs valued at tens of millions of dollars, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment across regions.
Build scalable processes and implement best practices to elevate procurement into a trusted, strategic business partner.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including GTM, ENG, IT, and Legal—to streamline workflows and support company-wide initiatives.
Establish and monitor procurement KPIs and SLAs, driving transparency and accountability across the organization.
Provide leadership and mentorship to a growing team of Senior Procurement Analysts, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.
Partner directly with company leadership to support scaling efforts, guide critical vendor decisions, and shape long-term procurement strategy.
How to be successful in this role:
10+ years of procurement experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
Proven track record managing global procurement programs of $10M+ with responsibility for vendor negotiations, contracts, and sourcing strategy.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level and manage high-stakes vendor relationships.
Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate cost structures, margins, and long-term financial impacts.
Deep knowledge of emerging trends, procurement best practices, and leading procurement technologies.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment and build scalable processes from the ground up.
Strong leadership capabilities with experience developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
