Job Overview Summary  

The Director, Training is responsible for planning, managing, executing, and evaluating all aspects of Advarra’s product-focused training events and resources. The Director, Training supervises the training team who develop and deliver training to both external customers and internal staff. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Lead Technology Solutions overall training strategy 
  • Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of effective and timely training to customers  
  • Supervise a global team of training specialists and the eLearning developers; provide coaching, help team members prioritize projects, identify opportunities for development, and deliver performance reviews  
  • Observe and evaluate trainers to ensure the correct content is delivered; provide coaching and feedback to help trainers develop their skills and gain confidence 
  • Develop, lead, and prioritize new training initiatives based on the company’s goals 
  • Manage major project timelines to ensure deadlines are met 
  • Oversee Training department budget, monthly forecasting, and ensure revenue projections are met  
  • Seek to improve training processes and resources 
  • Ensure that staff receive training on Advarra products that they support, test, or develop 
  • Work with PMO and Product Support Managers to determine appropriate staffing for implementation-related training events 
  • Analyze ongoing and new training needs of internal staff and customers  
  • Create or customize training programs to meet the needs of Technology Solutions customers and staff 
  • Drives the development and launch of new training services to optimize the customer training experience 
  • Survey customers about their Advarra training experience; improve and adjust training based on feedback and evaluations 
  • Collaborate with other teams to design and deliver new training programs to address any knowledge or skill gaps  
  • If onsite training is required evaluate facilities for training events; provide recommendations for new training rooms and spaces to ensure the best experience for customers 
  • Recommend best practice and consistent approach for virtual training to ensure the best experience for customers  
  • Prepare and present content at Onsemble conferences to support the company’s goals and our customers’ needs 
  • Evaluate new L&D tools or products to improve the efficiency of the team and the customer experience  
  • Work with the training managers to identify opportunities to deliver effective training on-demand; Prioritize projects and set timelines for e-learning specialists  
  • Ensure training materials are appropriately branded and adhere to the Advarra and marketing guidelines  
  • Work with the Documentation and Marketing teams to ensure training services are being actively promoted through marketing campaigns and through leadership activities 
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Product Management team; Help prioritize development based on user experience and feedback 
  • Stay up-to-date on adult learning trends, research, and innovations 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned  

Location  

This role is open to candidates working remotely in the United States. 

Basic Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent demonstrated experience in corporate training/adult education 
  • 7+ years of experience providing instructor-led training  
  • Software training experience 
  • Software troubleshooting experience 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience creating e-learning or other training media 
  • Effective communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening) 
  • Experience developing curriculum and training materials 
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills; comfortable speaking to groups of 10-200 people 
  • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills 
  • Supervisory/management skills 
  • Ability to strategically prioritize projects 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) 

Physical and Mental Requirements 

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation 
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.  
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions 
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities 
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking

 The base salary range for this role is $122,443 - $250,134. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
