Company Description

OleOle is building a global social, messaging and commerce platform designed specifically for the more than three billion football fans around the world.

The platform brings together social media, short-form video, encrypted messaging and calling, live scores, real-time translation and football content within a single global ecosystem. Our goal is to connect fans across clubs, countries and languages while creating an infrastructure that extends well beyond social media.

Every OleOle user receives a persistent Wallet ID that connects their identity across the ecosystem. Over time, OleOle will integrate payments, commerce, Mini Programs, ticketing and travel, gaming, digital assets and financial services. Mini Programs will allow clubs, brands, merchants and third-party developers to build services directly within OleOle, using the platform’s identity, social and payment infrastructure.

OleOleSport, our ticketing and travel business, provides an important early commercial opportunity through tickets, VIP hospitality and travel experiences around major sporting events. As the OleOle audience grows, additional businesses are designed to scale alongside it, including Mini Programs, payments, gaming and NewZeros, our planned financial infrastructure combining exchange capabilities with a broader payments and transaction network.

We are currently a team of approximately 20 people building across backend infrastructure, social, video, messaging, AI and translation, payments, football data, product and design.

OleOle is being built around a long-term thesis: football is the world’s largest shared passion, yet its global audience remains fragmented across social networks, messaging applications, sports platforms and commerce providers. We believe there is an opportunity to bring those experiences together in one global platform and build significant businesses around the resulting network.

OleOle — Where Fans Kick Off.

Job Description

OleOle is seeking a senior communications leader to own how our products, features, and experiences are explained to users across web and mobile.

This is a hands-on role working directly with the Founder, product, design, and engineering teams. The responsibility is to understand what we are building—often before it is finished—and turn complex functionality into communication that is simple, clear, consistent, and easy for users to understand.

This person will own user-facing product communications across the OleOle platform, including onboarding and registration, social and content experiences, messaging and calling, live sports, invitations and rewards, wallets and payments, ticketing and commerce, AskOle, and future products as the platform expands.

The role will develop the language users encounter throughout the product: feature explanations, onboarding screens, calls to action, permissions and consent messaging, notifications, transaction messages, success and error states, help content, FAQs, new-feature introductions, and other communications required to launch and operate the platform.

A major responsibility will be identifying communication requirements before products launch. This person will work with product and design while experiences are being developed, reviewing flows from the user’s perspective and identifying where additional explanation, education, reassurance, or context is required.

The role will also establish OleOle’s product voice and communications standards so terminology and messaging remain consistent across different products and user journeys. As OleOle expands internationally, these standards must be designed to work across countries, cultures, and languages without losing clarity or meaning.

This person will also help develop the broader communications required around product launches and major releases, ensuring that what OleOle tells users outside the product is consistent with what they experience inside it.

This is not primarily a corporate PR or media-relations position. It is a product-focused communications role for someone who can become deeply involved in the products themselves and take responsibility for ensuring that users understand what OleOle is asking them to do, what they receive in return, and why each experience matters.

The objective is straightforward: OleOle may be technically complex behind the screen, but it should never feel complicated to the user.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product communications, content design, UX content, product marketing, or a closely related consumer technology role, including significant senior-level ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience owning user-facing communications for a large-scale consumer technology product or platform.
  • Exceptional ability to understand complicated products and translate them into simple, clear language that consumers immediately understand.
  • Experience working directly with product managers, designers, engineers, and senior leadership throughout the product-development process—not simply receiving finished products to market after launch.
  • Strong experience developing product messaging across onboarding, feature education, calls to action, notifications, permissions, confirmations, errors, help content, FAQs, and other critical points throughout the customer journey.
  • Experience with one or more complex consumer product categories such as social media, messaging, fintech, payments, wallets, marketplaces, e-commerce, travel, ticketing, gaming, or AI.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing product voice, terminology, editorial standards, and communications systems that remain consistent across multiple products and teams.
  • Experience launching major consumer products or features and coordinating the communication required before, during, and after launch.
  • Strong understanding of how communication affects product adoption, activation, engagement, trust, retention, and conversion.
  • Experience communicating sensitive or high-trust experiences such as payments, financial transactions, identity verification, privacy, security, permissions, rewards, or account access.
  • Experience building communications for international products and working with localization and translation across multiple languages and cultures.
  • Excellent written English and exceptional editing skills, with the judgment to know when users need additional explanation and when fewer words create a better experience.
  • Strong product judgment and the confidence to challenge unclear product experiences rather than attempting to solve every usability problem with additional copy.
  • Comfortable operating in an early-stage, fast-moving environment where products are being designed and built simultaneously and requirements continue to evolve.
  • Highly hands-on. The successful candidate must be willing to personally write, edit, review, and establish the communications system rather than simply manage agencies, vendors, or a large communications team.

Strongly Preferred

Experience at a major global consumer technology company with sophisticated, multi-product user experiences—particularly social, messaging, payments, fintech, marketplaces, travel, commerce, or other high-frequency consumer platforms.

Experience helping a product expand internationally and maintaining a consistent product voice across markets and languages is particularly valuable.

Compensation

This role begins under OleOle’s deferred compensation model. Compensation is earned from the start under a written deferred compensation agreement and becomes payable when the company closes its funding; this is not unpaid or free work. Our current team, including the Founder, is working under the same structure. Candidates should understand that there is real risk because the timing of funding cannot be guaranteed. Following funding, the position will transition to a competitive salary plus equity and token ownership.

    Additional Information

    Solutions not problems .

    • Creative problem solver who can courageously propose and support new ideas to our organization. Not interested in best practices, lets build something better!
    • Ability to adapt. An ideal candidate will welcome the opportunity to solve a broad range of problems using a wide array of technologies.
    • Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities and general growing pains of an early-stage technology company
    • An exceptional entrepreneurial judgment that fosters independence over micro-management
    • Understanding of football and international sports a huge plus

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

    Key Facts About Seattle Tech

    • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
    • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
    • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
    • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
    • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
    • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
