POSITION SUMMARY

The eCommerce Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, commercial performance, customer experience, and continued evolution of Buddha Jewelry’s digital commerce ecosystem.

This role owns the website as a commercial asset, ensuring our Retail and Wholesale eCommerce experiences effectively support business goals, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and continuously improve conversion, merchandising, content, and usability.

The eCommerce Manager will serve as the internal Shopify subject matter expert and work closely with Marketing, Sales, Systems, Operations, and external partners to translate business priorities into effective digital experiences and solutions.

A major initial priority will be leading the commercial and cross-functional execution of Buddha Jewelry’s eCommerce consolidation and ongoing optimization of the unified global experience. This person will coordinate stakeholders and partners to ensure the website is positioned to support continued growth in the U.S. and internationally.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, commercially minded eCommerce professional who is comfortable operating strategically and hands-on. They understand how to use Shopify to create exceptional digital experiences, can manage complex projects from concept through launch, and are able to work effectively across teams and time zones.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

eCommerce & Website Management
  • Own the website as a commercial asset, with accountability for customer experience, merchandising, conversion, content, and digital commerce performance.
  • Serve as the internal Shopify subject matter expert and primary business owner of the platform.
  • Manage customer-facing website functionality, content, navigation, collections, and merchandising capabilities.
  • Establish scalable website standards, processes, and best practices while partnering with Systems on technical governance and Operations on underlying business processes.
eCommerce Projects & Development
  • Own eCommerce projects from business requirements through implementation, testing, launch, and post-launch optimization.
  • Translate business and marketing priorities into effective digital experiences and website functionality.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners while managing timelines, dependencies, risks, and launch readiness.
  • Partner with Systems on technical requirements, integrations, configuration, and implementation to ensure solutions are reliable and scalable.
  • Stay current on eCommerce regulations, platform updates, industry trends, and best practices, and proactively implement relevant improvements.
Global eCommerce & International Expansion
  • Lead the commercial and cross-functional execution of Buddha Jewelry’s global eCommerce expansion.
  • Develop and manage launch plans covering business requirements, customer experience, merchandising, content, testing, and optimization.
  • Partner with Leadership, Marketing, Sales, Systems, Operations, and regional teams to support market-specific business needs.
  • Establish repeatable eCommerce processes and standards that enable efficient expansion into future international markets.
Website Performance & Optimization
  • Monitor website performance, conversion, customer behavior, and digital experience using analytics and eCommerce tools.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve conversion, usability, navigation, merchandising, and customer experience.
  • Partner with the Digital Site Merchandiser and Marketing team to evaluate and optimize onsite experiences, campaigns, and content.
  • Maintain a proactive roadmap of commercial, customer experience, and website improvements.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience to align the website with commercial priorities and customer needs.
  • Partner with Systems to ensure the technology supporting the website is secure, reliable, scalable, and properly governed.
  • Partner with Operations, Inventory, and Fulfillment to ensure the website aligns with established business processes and product availability.
  • Serve as the internal resource for Shopify and eCommerce questions, helping teams understand and effectively use the platform.
 

MUST HAVES

  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience managing eCommerce websites
  • Advanced, hands-on experience with Shopify, with the ability to confidently manage the Shopify Admin and backend
  • Experience managing websites at a global or multi-market level
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce technology, website architecture, UX, integrations, and digital operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing website launches, migrations, redesigns, or significant platform projects
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in collaboration with multiple departments simultaneously
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Genuine commitment to equity, inclusion, and compassion
  • Ability to work on-site in Seattle, WA

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 4+ years of professional eCommerce or website management experience
  • Advanced Shopify experience; Shopify Plus experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience owning the backend and administration of a Shopify website
  • Experience managing multi-market, international, or global eCommerce environments
  • Experience with Shopify Markets, internationalization, multi-currency, localized content, domains, and/or regional storefronts
  • Experience managing website launches, redesigns, migrations, integrations, or other complex digital projects
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce UX and website best practices
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and the ability to comfortably troubleshoot basic website issues; Liquid experience is a plus
  • Experience working with Google Analytics and other digital analytics tools
  • Experience managing third-party apps, integrations, APIs, and technology vendors
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members
  • Experience within the fine jewelry, fashion, luxury, or body piercing industry is a major plus
  • Experience working with international teams and across multiple time zones is a plus
