In this role, you will design, develop, test, and support electronic hardware used in space and defense systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate electromechanical systems, develop test methods, create test hardware and software, and ensure products meet technical and regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates program requirements to determine appropriate test methods and equipment.
  • Reviews test system architecture and supports software and hardware implementation.
  • Determines hardware selection criteria for test setup needs.
  • Develops custom software libraries and drivers for test equipment operations.
  • Supports test activities throughout the product lifecycle, including development, qualification, and production testing.
  • Drafts test procedures, performs data reviews, and generates test reports.
  • Designs schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs) for test fixtures and deliverable electronics.
  • Drafts and reviews electrical engineering drawings, including schematics, PCBs, circuit card assemblies (CCAs), cable harnesses, and bills of materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Two to five years of aerospace, defense, and/or avionics experience.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout; familiarity with Altium is a plus.
  • Skill in surface‑mount and through‑hole soldering; familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 is a plus.
  • Competence in harness design and assembly; familiarity with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 is a plus.
  • Proficiency in electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Ability to design and develop test hardware and software for product‑specific testing.
  • Fluency with LabVIEW, C, C++, or C#; familiarity with TestStand, Python, or Matlab is a plus.
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE or LTSPICE.
  • Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑461 is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
