Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Data Architect is a critical member of the enterprise data and analytics (D&A) team. This position works with D&A analysts to translate functional requirements into finished data and analytics products.

As a Senior Data Architect you will be part of a Data and Analytics team that is modernizing and transforming our data and reporting capabilities implementing a new modernized data architecture.In this role, you should have hands on Data Architecutre experince, guide and mentor the team on the best practices and also perform hands on coding on day to day basis.

This position will perform a variety of duties including building and supporting cloud data pipelines around the enterprise data warehouse, migrating from On Prem to Cloud, advocating for continuous improvement in data quality and efficiency in data pipeline management, while ensuring a strong data model strategy.

The data and analytics team currently supports more than 3,000 users across 30 sites globally through multiple BI tools including an enterprise data warehouse and a downstream master data management application. 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build out the data strategy for Envista and all the Operating Companies by evaluating their needs and driving towards that vision and strategy
  • Architect complex data solutions in an Azure and Snowflake Cloud environment.
  • Guide team on migrating existing processes and data from On Premises Oracle/ SQL Server and other environments to Azure cloud and Snowflake
  • Maintain the Azure components and services.
  • Drive and build out Data Quality and Data Lineage tools and concepts.
  • Create an ecosystem of Data Products and a Data Catalog that allows users to self-serve and explore the data in the Data Warehouse.
  • Deploy and drive a data governance strategy for all users of the D&A systems.
  • Enable end-to-end automation for deployment using continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Implement data pipelines to ingest data to the platform, standardize the data, and transform the data into business facing datasets.
  • Perform unit and integration testing of data pipelines.
  • Perform data integration at scale with Azure Data Factory.
  • Perform code reviews
  • Work with Analysts and business SMEs to translate business requirements into curated datasets suitable for analytics solutions.
  • Document data pipelines for maintainability.
  • Work with source system owners and business owners to incorporate business changes into data pipelines.
  • Design data architecture for future platform growth including data warehousing, streaming analytics, and data visualization.
  • Assist in testing, governance, data quality, training, and documentation efforts.
  • Actively engage in business stakeholder requirement workshops to understand, interpret, and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related fields.
  • 16+ years of experience in data engineering, designing and building scalable and reliable data pipelines and infrastructure
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms preferably Azure.
  • 7+ years of experience working on cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Hands on Data Modeling Experience like Kimball, Imon methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong experience with SQL and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience with Data Architecture, working in all phases of full life cycle data analytics development: Requirements, Architecture, Design, Testing, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning the ETLs/ELTs and database solutions for large data sets.
  • Proficiency with modern Agile development methodologies.
  • Hands on experience with Data Ingestion tools like ADF
  • Experience with transformation tools like Coalesce is highly preferred.
  • Deliver maintenance and improvements for existing applications.
  • The ability to be an exceptional team player, act as a technical mentor, interested in sharing knowledge with other team members, and passionate about learning new technologies
  • Experience with Master Data Management tools like Profisee is highly desired.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
