About Aurelian

Aurelian builds AI tools that help 911 centers handle more with less, so telecommunicators can stay focused on what matters most and communities get the response they need.

AVA is a conversational AI agent that answers non-emergency calls; the agent routes, triages, and resolves the calls without any human intervention. By handling administrative calls like noise complaints, lost dogs, and parking inquiries, AVA eliminates hold times and lets call-takers focus their energy on actual emergencies.

CORA supports call-takers on the calls that matter most. CORA is an on-screen assistant that delivers real-time SOP checklists, smart reminders, and contextual guidance as an emergency call unfolds, so dispatchers stay calm, consistent, and confident when every second counts. When AVA detects an emergency mid-call, it transfers the caller to a telecommunicator and passes along the caller details, location, incident type, and key statements directly into CORA. The call-taker never starts from scratch.

The problem we're solving is serious. The average emergency communications center is 30% understaffed nationwide. Staffing shortages drive burnout and attrition, which makes the shortage worse. Meanwhile, 60-80% of the calls coming in aren't even emergencies at all. Aurelian addresses both sides of that equation: AVA reduces unnecessary call volume, and CORA makes every emergency call more manageable for the people handling it.

Aurelian is live in centers across the country, answering thousands of non-emergency calls every day, and is backed by New Enterprise Associates and Y Combinator. Aurelian is growing rapidly; we are hiring people who want to help scale this work and make a real difference in public safety infrastructure for communities across the country.

Why Join Us

We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Events Manager to own the planning and execution of our event portfolio. This is an individual contributor role responsible for running 70–90 events per year, ranging from smaller activities to large-scale industry shows.

This is an IC role on a lean team where you’ll have real ownership and direct access to leadership. About 80% of your time will be spent in execution: logistics, vendors, timelines, budgets, and on-site ops, with ~20% of the time dedicated to strategic planning, budgeting, and event optimization. You’ll be responsible for driving events end-to-end, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks, and every detail is accounted for, while also contributing ideas to improve impact and efficiency over time.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own and execute 70–90 events annually, including trade shows, field events, and hosted experiences

  • Manage all aspects of event logistics: vendor coordination, timelines, budgets, shipping, event briefs, on-site execution, and post-event wrap-up

  • Build and maintain detailed project plans to ensure clear execution across multiple concurrent events

  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and leadership to align on event goals and outcomes

  • Track budgets, manage invoices, and ensure events are delivered efficiently and within budget

  • Travel to key events (~25%) to oversee on-site execution and troubleshoot in real time

  • Measure event performance and contribute insights to improve future events

  • Identify and pressure-test new event formats, sponsorships, and activations that help us punch above our weight against larger competitors

  • Build repeatable processes and templates so the program scales as we grow

Who We’re Looking For
  • 2–5 years of experience in event planning/management, or similar roles

  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of events simultaneously without sacrificing quality

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to connect events to business outcomes

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • High ownership mindset; you take initiative and don’t wait to be told what to do

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills

  • Strong budget management skills: you can forecast, negotiate vendor contracts, and explain a variance without hand-holding

  • Familiarity with event tools, CRM systems, or marketing automation platforms

  • Willingness to travel (~25%) and work on-site in Seattle

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
