Finance Manager - Hybrid

The Finance Manager support local ministry/entity leadership teams and may serve on local leadership committees as assigned. Responsible for financial analysis and modeling in order to evaluate the effectiveness of new programs and to propose recommendations for achieving financial goals and budgetary targets. Additionally, to provide financial analysis for strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting and to develop analytical reports to assist in enhancing process improvements and in increasing efficiencies. May also serve as a resource to clinical service line leaders. Other responsibilities may include development of financial plans, budgets, and support for month-end review of financial statements and other assistance as required.

  • Own labor productivity as an operational finance discipline, not just a reporting function. Translate worked hours, premium pay, agency usage, volume, acuity, and unit-of-service trends into clear opportunities that leaders can act on.
  • Build credible benchmarking that leaders trust. Compare departments, facilities, service lines, and external benchmarks while adjusting for operational differences such as patient mix, acuity, staffing models, geography, regulatory requirements, and service intensity.
  • Partner directly with operational, nursing, clinical, HR, and finance leaders. Work with department leaders to explain variances without blame, challenge assumptions respectfully, and turn productivity findings into practical staffing and workflow decisions.
  • Move beyond “hours per unit” into root-cause analysis. Investigate the drivers of labor variation, including volume changes, scheduling practices, overtime, call-offs, skill mix, contract labor, sitters, care model design, throughput issues, and inconsistent unit-of-service definitions.
  • Develop tools, governance, and routines that create sustained performance improvement. Maintain productivity standards, monthly review processes, dashboards, action plans, accountability forums, and savings validation so improvements are measurable and repeatable.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
