About the Company  

equivant Supervision Corrections & Pretrial (equivant SCP) exists to support our community supervision and corrections customers in assessing and managing justice-involved individuals through the software we provide, the people we employ, and the practices we enable. Our team works alongside our customers to not only improve their day-to-day operations, but to also have a hand in strengthening and advancing the justice system. We know that our industry is composed of both small, impactful details as well as larger, broadly principled policies and evidence-based practices that come together to improve outcomes, improve public safety and help rehabilitate citizens to be productive members of their communities across the United States. We have customers – state agencies, county probation, county pretrial and county jails – across the US, many of them having been with us for 10 to 20+ years. 

About the Role 
As the Finance Manager, you’ll be a strategic leader and trusted advisor, shaping the financial future of equivant SCP in partnership with the General Manager. As a member of the executive team, you’ll work closely with the leadership team, influencing decisions that drive growth and profitability. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building scalable financial operations. As equivant SCP is part of a larger group of justice industry business units, the Finance Manager will also have oversight and involvement with the financial forecasts for two other business units. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead all financial activities, including month-end reports, planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance – for equivant SCP 

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals.  

  • Drive process improvements and champion new technologies to modernize financial operations.  

  • Present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership, helping shape company strategy.  

  • Occasional travel (2-3x per year) to company events and portfolio summits.   

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Participate and oversee full-cycle accounting, ensuring accuracy and timely monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting under IFRS. 

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting, collaborating with department heads to set ambitious yet achievable targets. 

  • Lead quarterly and annual forecasting across the Justice Group working with the Group Leader and GMs to drive growth and financial efficiency. 

  • Deliver clear, actionable financial reports and analysis to support decision-making.  

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and all relevant regulations.  

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing robust internal controls.  

  • Monitor KPIs and leverage data to uncover opportunities for growth and efficiency.  

  • Drive business and process transformation, streamlining workflows and supporting data-driven decisions.   

  • Provide financial leadership and support to M&A activities at the Portfolio level, as required. 

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager. 

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field (professional designation such as ACCA, CPA).  

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience (3+ years in a leadership role ideal).  

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS (especially IFRS 15 and 16).  

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel.  

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.  

  • Experience in technology-driven businesses or SaaS is a plus.  

  • Experience with financial systems implementation and process improvement; familiarity with BPC, GP, NetSuite, or similar systems an asset. 

  • Analytical, strategic thinker focused on actionable outcomes and process improvement. 

  • Driven self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, entrepreneurial environments
