Job Summary:
Pets Best is seeking an Insurance Financial Analyst to work closely with Finance and Business heads to drive our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. In this role, you will have unique visibility across the entire company and serve as the key liaison between multiple departments and teams. You will turn your analyses into deep insights, communicate these insights to key stakeholders and executives, and support strategic decision-making.
Job Location: Hybrid to New York City (Preferred); Remote
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial packages for senior management and holding company.
Lead process development to extract data from policy admin systems and relational databases into PowerQuery/Excel
Build automated financial reports and dashboards via PowerQuery ETL and advanced Excel skills
Facilitate collaboration by communicating financial concepts to technical/IT teams and vice versa
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budget, including cash flow projections.
Assist in financial and business analysis across key operations and functions of the business.
Prepare ad hoc analysis requests for senior management.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience
1 - 3 years of modeling skills, in insurance and/or MGA environment
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or Software Engineering
Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced dynamic growth environment
Advanced MS Excel knowledge, intermediate MS PowerPoint
Advanced skills in Power Query and SQL. Other programming languages a plus
Understanding of Insurance/MGA Carrier relationships and related reporting
Basic understanding of journal entries and general ledgers a plus
Understanding of insurance (P&C) a plus
