The RoleAs a Forward Deployed Engineer at Summation, you’ll work directly with our customers, integrating our platform into their business environments and tailoring our solutions to meet their unique needs. You will have one foot in engineering and the other in customer success, deploying innovative solutions for financial planning, reporting, and data analysis. This role blends technical execution with business strategy, helping organizations unlock the full potential of our platform.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development: Be a bridge between customers and product teams, capturing feedback, proposing and implementing new features that can enhance the platform.
Customer Engagement: Work closely with our customers to understand their financial planning and analytics requirements. Translate business needs into technical solutions using Summation’s platform.
Solution Deployment: Lead the deployment of the Summation AI-native platform within customer environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing ERP, BI, and data systems. Design and implement scalable solutions, building models, workflows, and dashboards for customers using Summation's open analytics protocols, including SQL, Python, and Excel integrations. Focus on creating reusable components that ensure reliability and efficiency across customer deployments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a data engineer or analytics engineer
Experience with Python or Java, and proficiency with data integrations, APIs, or SDKs.
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with financial data systems (e.g., ERP, FP&A platforms).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A passion for solving complex business problems using data-driven approaches.
Familiarity with business planning or financial modeling concepts is a plus.
