About the Role

We’re seeking a Full-Stack Web Engineer to help build and scale the core systems powering NewsBreak’s advertising and data platform. You’ll work on critical components that enable user signal collection, event processing, campaign management, and advertiser insights. Your contributions will drive smarter targeting, stronger measurement, and sustainable revenue growth across our first-party ad ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and enhance infrastructure for web signal and event collection, including pixel tracking, postback APIs, and third-party data integrations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack systems supporting ad creation, campaign management, and performance analytics within our advertising platform.
  • Ensure data reliability, scalability, and privacy compliance across all web tracking and advertiser workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and infra teams to define requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Continuously improve system performance, usability, and developer experience through thoughtful architecture and tooling.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–7 years of experience in full-stack web engineering (ideally in ad-tech, marketing-tech, analytics or a related domain).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue), and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Express/NestJS).
  • Strong understanding of tracking/web instrumentation: browser APIs, cookies/localStorage, post-back flows, event deduplication.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), CI/CD, containerization or serverless architectures.
  • Solid SQL knowledge and working familiarity with event-driven pipelines or message queues (Kafka, PubSub, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to partner with PMs, analysts, growth, infra and data teams.

Preferred:

  • Previous ad-tech or martech experience: building or operating pixel/post-back systems, attribution pipelines, 3rd-party integrations.
  • Familiarity with privacy and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA), consent-management flows, browser signal changes (e.g., ITP, ATT).
  • Experience with self-serve advertiser platforms, campaign/U/I flows, creative-management, reporting/dashboarding.
  • Familiarity with data-visualization technologies and building interactive dashboards in a production U/I.
  • Comfortable in a high-velocity environment with evolving requirements and multiple stakeholders.

Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package:

  • Health, dental, and vision care for you and your family
  • Top-tier 401(K) plan with company matching
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • FSA and commuter benefits programs
  • Team activity budget

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
