About hyperexponential (hx)
At hyperexponential, we're building the AI-powered platform that enables the world's most critical decisions in a $7 trillion industry: which risks to take, and how to price them. These are the decisions that shape real-world outcomes: whether rockets successfully launch into space, autonomous vehicles make it to market, or communities recover after major storms.
Until now, insurance has been making billion-dollar decisions using outdated tools. We're changing that. Our platform brings together data, AI, and human expertise to give insurers the fastest path from submission to decision. We help them move faster, act smarter, and take on more risk with confidence.
Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, we're scaling globally. We are already trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers, with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through hx.
What began as a single product in one market has rapidly evolved into a multi-product, multi-territory platform powering every stage of pricing and underwriting. AI is at the core of what we do, from building the world's first domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance (think GitHub Copilot with a PhD in actuarial science) to shaping agentic workflows that reinvent how this industry operates.
What makes hx different is the people who build it. Here, impact isn't tied to title or tenure. It's defined by the challenges you take on and the discipline you bring. Surrounded by peers who stretch you, you'll do the best, hardest work of your life in a company built to endure.
If that sounds like you, join us in building what comes next.
About the team
Field Engineering at hx is the team that turns ambition into production reality. We sit at the intersection of deep technical delivery, customer transformation, and agentic AI, operating across the most complex pricing and underwriting challenges in the world. In the Americas, we are scaling fast, and this role is the tip of the spear: the person who will define what elite agentic field delivery looks like in the US market and build the team that executes it.
This is not a management layer removed from the work. The team operates with craft at its core, building harnesses, agents, and workflows that don't just close deals but become the foundation for product capabilities used by every customer that follows. We collaborate tightly with AI R&D, Product, and Sales, and we hold ourselves accountable to metrics that matter: GWP throughput, ARR per head, time to live, and bootcamp conversion.
The US Head of Agentic Field Engineering will own the full arc of the Americas technical delivery motion, from the first conversation with a underwriting leaders to live premium on the platform. This is a rare opportunity to build a function from an early stage, set the bar for what great looks like, and compound your impact across customers, product, and the people you develop.

What you'll be doing
Lead the full Americas technical delivery motion end to end, personally driving bootcamps on major pursuits alongside Agent Builders, with a target of zero deals lost on technical or delivery-confidence grounds from Q3 onwards.
Quadruple GWP flowing through the platform year on year by expanding existing accounts and landing new logos, while reducing the average time to bring a new line of business live by 50% within 12 months.
Build and operate an agentic OS that systematically upskills a team of agents alongside your Agent Builders, compounding delivery productivity and reducing time to productivity for new joiners
Land a minimum of 3 field-built capabilities into the core product by month 6 through a structured field-to-product feedback cadence operating with the Product leadership team from within 90 days of joining.
Double ARR per head year on year, measured on average ramped FTE inclusive of contractor, partner, and offshore effort
Grow the Americas team maintain an attrition rate below 20%
Putting a development plan in place for every player-coach
What you'll need to have done
Built agentic AI systems personally and recently, with the ability to walk through the harness architecture, toolchain, and quality validation approach you used, not just an opinion on AI but hands-on delivery.
Grown through engineering into leadership while keeping your hands in the work, whether through active side projects or a demonstrable return to building enabled by agentic AI.
Created internal tooling, harnesses, or workflows that made a team measurably faster, not just optimized delivery for clients but genuinely improved how the people doing the delivering operate.
Tackled the hard 80% of a problem when the easy 20% would have shipped sooner and demoed better, and can speak concretely to what that choice cost and why it was the right call.
Operated in enterprise go-to-market environments with long cycles, multiple buying centers, and implementations measured in quarters, holding a technical room and moving a commercial outcome in the same conversation.
Managed a leadership team of player-coaches, with a genuine track record of making those people better rather than simply directing them, and demonstrated speed of technical assimilation in a new domain under real customer pressure.
