  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian regulations, tax rules, and company policies
  • Partner with Audit, Legal, and Finance on SOX controls and reviews
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risk

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a multi-functional operations team
  • Provide guidance on complex cases and escalations
  • Drive accountability, ownership, and performance standards

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Partner with HRIS/IT on Workday, Dayforce, and system enhancements
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and efficiency
  • Manage operational calendars and workflows

Reporting & Financial Alignment

  • Oversee reporting, reconciliations, and data accuracy
  • Partner with Payroll and Finance on accruals, costing, and financial integrity

Requirements

Must-Have

  • 10+ years in HR/Total Rewards operations
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • Experience across multiple Total Rewards functions (not siloed)
  • Strong background in controls, compliance, and audit (SOX preferred)

  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulatory environments

Nice-to-Have

  • Shared services or global delivery model experience
  • Certifications (CEBS, CCP, GPHR)
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems

What Great Looks Like

  • Thinks in process flows and execution, not theory
  • Proactively addresses risk, controls, and audit readiness
  • Brings structure to complex operations
  • Balances people leadership with execution rigor
  • Measures impact with data and operational metrics

What This Role Is Not

  • Not Total Rewards strategy or program design

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
