What's the Short Version?

The HR Specialist plays a key role in supporting the growth of one of SanMar's most important assets, our people! This role focuses on creating an outstanding employee experience by contributing to engagement and communications programs, as well as assisting with other HR projects and programs.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Design and create clear, compelling content that aligns with our employee voice and meets brand standards.
  • Serve as superuser for communications systems and tools, conduct audits, deliver training, and provide best practices to ensure effective use.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations for employee engagement and communications programs.
  • Administer the employee orders and swag programs, providing consistency and education on policy guidelines.
  • Maintain multiple HR Inboxes: replies as appropriate, routes matters requiring action by staff or other organizations and follows up to ensure actions are completed.
  • Provide operational and administrative support related to department initiatives and projects.
  • Provide support to the Employee Experience team and greater HR department, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

What Are We Looking For?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of experience in Human Resources coordination, administration, or program support
  • Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR)-HRCI preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate complete confidentiality and discretion
  • Administrative skills which must include excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and identify ways to adapt and improve outcomes that encourage greater efficiency in the Employee Experience
  • High energy, results-oriented individual who can make a difference
  • Experience with graphic design and design tools (Canva and Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently, and in a team environment
  • Takes initiative and has willingness to take ownership for assigned work
  • Ability to routinely lift/carry office supplies and printed materials weighing up to 25 lbs.

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $25.00 - $33.65 on an hourly basis, depending on experience.


Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 5% of base salary.


Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Office: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Work environment is moderately quiet. Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building. SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
