Project Scope
We are seeking a Hyland OnBase to Epic Gallery Migration Consultant to support healthcare organizations transitioning off Hyland OnBase and onto Epic Gallery. This role will serve as a senior technical resource across the full migration lifecycle — from initial discovery and scope definition through data extraction, metadata mapping, conversion preparation, and go-live support.

Position Summary
The Hyland OnBase to Epic Gallery Migration Consultant will bring deep OnBase technical expertise to a client-facing delivery role focused on extracting, cleansing, and preparing legacy document management data for conversion into Epic Gallery. This individual will engage directly with client teams, work alongside Epic and engineering resources, and ensure data integrity and conversion readiness throughout the engagement. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of OnBase experience, strong ETL and data extraction skills, and a working knowledge of Epic environments. Epic Gallery experience is strongly preferred; candidates with OnBase expertise and Epic implementation or migration exposure will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in client discovery sessions to assess legacy OnBase environments, data readiness, and conversion complexity.
  • Provide technical guidance on extraction strategies, conversion preparation, and Epic Gallery requirements.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and project leadership to define technical scope, level-of-effort estimates, and migration approaches.
  • Present technical capabilities, risks, and migration processes to client stakeholders.
  • Lead and execute document, metadata, and configuration extraction from OnBase environments including cloud-hosted and on-premises architectures.
  • Analyze legacy OnBase schemas and configurations to determine optimal extraction and transformation strategies.
  • Build and manage extraction processes to cleanse, normalize, and validate data ahead of Epic Gallery conversion.
  • Map metadata fields and prepare data structures in accordance with Epic conversion specifications.
  • Document extraction logic, transformation rules, and workflow processes throughout the engagement.
  • Collaborate with Epic teams, cloud engineers, conversion analysts, and QA resources across all project phases.
  • Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and identify remediation needs to ensure full conversion readiness.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools, accelerators, and best practices for OnBase-to-Gallery conversions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with Hyland OnBase including data extraction, configuration, and administration.
  • Experience extracting documents and metadata from OnBase using SQL queries, Unity API, REST APIs, and file-level extraction.
  • Strong understanding of ETL workflows, data conversion processes, and data cleansing techniques.
  • Ability to assess and remediate data quality issues prior to migration.
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted OnBase environments across any major cloud platform.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills across technical and operational audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic Gallery Certification
  • Epic Gallery experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Epic implementations or EHR migrations in a healthcare environment.
  • Background working on document management migrations or large-scale data conversion projects.
  • Familiarity with FHIR and healthcare data standards.
  • Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Deep OnBase technical expert who understands not just how the system works, but how to get data out of it cleanly and completely.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical with a strong track record of accurate, reliable data extraction and conversion work.
  • Client-facing professional who can lead discovery sessions, explain technical complexity clearly, and build confidence with stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively alongside Epic, engineering, and QA teams.
  • Brings technical depth, professionalism, and a delivery-focused mindset to every engagement.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
