Under the direct supervision of a full-time salaried employee designated as their sponsor, the student Learning & Development Intern performs work that is intended to provide the needed experience for a career in the corporate learning and development field. This work should provide ample opportunity to learn and should bring value to the company.
The Learning & Development Intern will support the organization’s talent development strategies by assisting with platform management, content strategy, and content development. This team member will have the opportunity to participate in meetings with stakeholders, assist with content management and creation, and participate in data audits and reporting activities.
- Learn the capabilities of the tools within our L&D ecosystem, including the basics of the LMSs, as well as supporting tools, content, and technologies.
- Evaluate the training requirements of specific teams through job analysis, requirements documents, and consultation with domain teams.
- Monitor employee performance and response to training. Recommend improvements based on feedback.
- Review and update existing content.
- Develop new content including module summaries, videos, presentations, and other training materials. Iterate the content with stakeholders.
- Process reports within the LMS, to include standard and ad-hoc reports required to review the training records for specific individuals, specific teams, or specific courses.
- Support and provide feedback on established governance processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to LMS workflows, reporting practices, and training assignments.
- Participate in planning and execution of LMS-related projects, to include migrations between learning systems, ongoing upgrades to LMS functionality, and other projects, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, a copy of an academic transcript may be requested.
- Must demonstrate a basic knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues, including learning new applications, software, and tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work in-office during business hours, Monday – Friday during summer months.
