  • Significant experience in cloud networking architecture and enterprise network design in regulated environments.
  • Deep expertise in core networking concepts: routing, switching, BGP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, NAT, proxies, load balancing, and zero-trust principles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native networking services and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience designing customer solution architectures that align to security, resilience, and performance objectives.
  • Proven track record of managing and remediating technology and cybersecurity risks/findings from audits, assessments, and control testing.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tooling such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level reporting and technical design reviews.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence architecture outcomes without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills.

  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Professional-level cloud, Security, and/or Networking certifications
  • Familiarity with SRE practices, observability, and network performance engineering.

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
