All AT&T Products with a focus on High Capacity Fiber Solutions

AI is transforming how the world works, and every model, data center, and cloud platform behind it requires enormous network capacity. Join a growing team that partners with the world's leading technology companies to deliver the high-capacity network solutions their AI infrastructure depends on.

As a Lead Sales Systems Engineer in the AT&T Technology Sector, you'll be the trusted technical advisor to these customers. You'll lead technical strategy on complex opportunities, turning customer requirements into scalable AT&T solutions, often anchored in high-capacity fiber. From discovery through proposal and delivery handoff, you'll partner with sales, product, engineering, network, and delivery teams to shape the solution, make the case for AT&T, and help close the deal. This individual-contributor role is built for a networking expert with deep fiber knowledge, a seller's instincts, and the drive to raise the bar for the team.

Earn with confidence, upside, and visibility into your total opportunity.
This role offers a competitive base salary, performance-based commission, and meaningful earning upside tied directly to sales results. At target performance, total annual earnings are expected to range from $161,400 to $235,500, with the opportunity for top performers to exceed target based on quota achievement, new revenue growth, and strength of pipeline execution.

Your earnings will be driven by how effectively you build and manage enterprise opportunities, develop customer relationships, advance complex solutions, and close business. High-performing sellers who consistently create qualified pipeline, expand account potential, and deliver results can accelerate earnings to $350,000 or more while building long-term career momentum within AT&T.

What you'll do
  • Capture the AI infrastructure opportunity: Serve as the technical lead on pursuits for high-capacity fiber services driven by the AI infrastructure build-out, designing solutions that position AT&T as the network partner of choice for the technology companies building and scaling AI.
  • Shape and win opportunities: Lead technical discovery, solution strategy, and customer presentations on the front line of AI-driven network demand. Qualify and expand large, complex opportunities by connecting customer infrastructure strategies to the right AT&T solutions.
  • Lead solution design across the portfolio: Act as the go-to technical expert on AT&T's networking and connectivity portfolio. Architect end-to-end solutions that balance performance, resiliency, cost, and speed to deliver, including high-capacity fiber services at 10G, 100G, 400G, and beyond.
  • Deliver customer-ready proposals: Work with customers and internal teams to quickly develop customer-ready technical proposals, including designs, pricing inputs, fiber route maps, delivery expectations, and timelines.
  • Anticipate technical risks and remove barriers: Align technical requirements across customer and internal stakeholders. Identify risks, resolve technical issues, and escalate barriers that could affect solution viability, scope, schedule, cost, or customer outcomes.
  • Drive a clean delivery handoff: Document solution designs, dependencies, milestones, and customer commitments so delivery teams can execute with confidence and on schedule.
  • Enable sellers and colleagues: Train sales teams on AT&T's portfolio, including high-capacity fiber solutions, and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Make the complex simple: Translate complex network designs into clear, data-backed recommendations that help customers, sellers, and leadership understand tradeoffs and make confident decisions.

What you'll bring
  • 8+ years of related technical sales experience, including supporting large, complex opportunities across a broad network and connectivity portfolio.
  • Strong networking and connectivity knowledge, including high-capacity fiber-based services.
  • A proactive, action-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to influence buying decisions, shape opportunities, and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, explain, and support implementation of complex technical solutions across customer and internal stakeholder groups.
  • Problem-solving, risk identification, and data-driven decision-making under changing conditions.
  • Effective consultation, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including influencing without direct authority.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA).
  • Work conditions: This role focuses on acquiring new business and meeting customers in the field. Candidates must be willing and able to travel frequently to customer sites and attend in-person customer meetings. A minimum of one day per week in the assigned office is required to support collaboration and team engagement.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
