Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Security Systems Solutions Engineer to be embedded at a leading global technology and entertainment company.

The Lead Security Systems Solutions Engineer owns the architecture and technical direction of our client's security technology ecosystem and leads the Solutions Engineering (SE) team that designs, integrates, and supports it. This role combines deep systems administration and integration expertise with project and program leadership, serving as the primary point of contact for all SE work and overseeing each project from intake through completion.

This is a full-time remote position offering competitive benefits and approximately 15% regional travel.

Essential Job Functions

Architecture & Technical Leadership
  • Own system design and integrations across the security technology ecosystem, ensuring it scales securely with the business.
  • Evaluate and select technologies, build proofs of concept, and lead adoption of emerging security technologies, including cloud camera analytics and AI-driven tools.
  • Define and enforce technical standards, architectural patterns, and security and data protection requirements.
  • Serve as technical advisor for support escalations and as SME for access control, video security, and analytics.

Project & Program Management
  • Serve as the primary intake point for all SE projects, triaging and prioritizing requests.
  • Participate in project design and scoping, leading discovery discussions to align business goals with technical realities.
  • Assign projects to Solutions Engineers (SE's) and oversee each one through completion, keeping delivery on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Manage the SE program portfolio: roadmap, priorities, dependencies, and status reporting to leadership.
  • Own resource allocation and workload balancing across the SE team, and mentor engineers throughout delivery.
  • Flag technical, operational, and security risks before they become roadblocks.

Integration, Automation & Operations
  • Architect and maintain integrations between security platforms (access control, VMS, visitor management) and enterprise systems, including legacy systems.
  • Design ETL workflows that turn security data into business intelligence.
  • Identify and deploy automation to remove repetitive manual work.
  • Lead upgrades, enhancements, and migrations; ensure uptime through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Partner with Security Operations, IT, Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders, and present complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years experience programming and administering enterprise, multi-site physical security systems.

  • 3+ years experience in a security systems architecture or technical leadership role.

  • Genetec Synergis SC-STC-001 and/or SC-ETC-001 certification.

  • Hands-on experience deploying, integrating, and supporting physical security technologies.

  • Proven project/program management experience, including intake, scoping, resource allocation, and delivering multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.

  • Experience building PoCs, making technology selection decisions, and mentoring engineers.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Studio production, entertainment, or technology industry experience.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
