Provide advisory services to assess and improve ManageEngine Endpoint Central for a macOS fleet: recommend packaging and deployment best practices (PKG/DMG), patch/update scheduling, repository/version control, integration with MDM/ITSM/security tools, troubleshoot complex deployment issues, improve documentation, and coach internal IT staff during periodic strategy check-ins.

We're seeking an experienced ManageEngine consultant to advise our IT team on the strategy, architecture, and

best-practice use of our ManageEngine environment for our macOS device fleet. This is an advisory engagement

rather than a hands-on administration role — we need an expert who can assess our current setup, recommend

improvements, and guide our internal team through implementation of best practices across the ManageEngine suite,

with particular attention to Endpoint Central and macOS application deployment.

Scope of Work

• Assess our current ManageEngine environment (Endpoint Central and related modules) for our macOS

fleet and identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies.

• Advise on macOS application deployment strategy: PKG/DMG packaging standards, silent-install

practices, deployment policies, and staged/phased rollout approaches.

• Recommend best practices for macOS patch and OS update management scheduling and compliance within

Endpoint Central.

• Guide troubleshooting of recurring or complex macOS deployment failures (agent connectivity, package

errors, dependency conflicts).

• Advise on software repository/catalog structure, version control, and lifecycle management.

• Provide recommendations on reporting, dashboards, and compliance monitoring for deployment and patch

status.

• Advise on integration of Endpoint Central with other IT systems (MDM, ITSM, security tooling).

• Review and recommend improvements to existing deployment documentation and runbooks.

• Provide knowledge transfer and light coaching to internal IT staff to build long-term self-sufficiency.

• Participate in periodic strategy or check-in calls (cadence to be defined based on engagement scope).

Requirements

Extensive hands-on background administering and architecting ManageEngine solutions, particularly

Endpoint Central (Desktop Central), in production environments.

• Demonstrated expertise in macOS application packaging and deployment (PKG, DMG) and silent-install

methodologies at scale.

• Strong understanding of macOS endpoint management and patch management practices.

• Track record advising or consulting for organizations on ManageEngine strategy, not just day-to-day

administration.

• Ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both IT staff and

leadership.

• Comfortable working in a short-term or part-time advisory capacity alongside an internal IT team.

Preferred Qualifications

• ManageEngine Endpoint Central certification or equivalent vendor credential.

• Prior consulting/advisory engagements with mid-size or enterprise IT teams.

• Experience integrating ManageEngine with MDM platforms (Jamf, Intune, Kandji, etc.).

• Familiarity with IT asset management and software license compliance practices.

• Scripting background (Bash/zsh) to advise on macOS automation opportunities.

Engagement Details

• Flexible engagement structure: project-based assessment, ongoing retainer, or ad hoc advisory hours —

open to discussion.

• Available for calls during business hours.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
