  • Implement automated and AI-driven data quality monitoring to proactively detect and resolve anomalies
  • Lead data lineage, metadata management, and cataloging efforts to improve transparency, traceability, and trust
  • Enable AI readiness by ensuring data is structured, labeled, and governed to support analytics and machine learning initiatives
  • Establish governance guardrails for generative AI, including ethical guidelines, security controls, and responsible use of LLM technologies
  • Align governance practices with regional and cross-border regulatory requirements across North and South America
  • Coach and develop a high-performing team of Data Governance Analysts while serving as a trusted advisor to business and IT leaders

  • Experience with data lineage, metadata management, and data cataloging
  • Experience enabling AI and advanced analytics initiatives through structured, governed data environments, with an understanding of AI governance, data ethics, and responsible AI principles
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, COBIT), including regulatory and compliance considerations related to data management
  • Proven leadership experience, including leading, mentoring, and developing data professionals, with a track record of building and growing teams
  • Ability to translate governance concepts into scalable, operational enterprise processes

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
