Lead the OPSS team to ensure operational data governance, master data accuracy, reporting and analytics, supplier oversight, and cost control. Provide management reporting, insights, and recommendations to improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, and operational decision-making while coordinating with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Regional stakeholders.
To lead the OPSS function within the Area, ensuring strong operational data governance, performance analytics, supplier management oversight, and effective cross-functional coordination. The role supports accurate master data maintenance, management reporting, cost control performance, and data-driven insights to improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, and operational decision-making.
ResponsibilitiesMain Tasks
- Lead and develop the OPSS team, ensuring clear priorities, effective execution, and strong support to the Operations function.
- Manage workload planning, task allocation, and coverage models to ensure service continuity, operational resilience, and balanced capacity.
- Drive continuous improvement in OPSS processes, data quality, reporting efficiency, and automation.
- Ensure effective coordination with Operations, Cost Control, Procurement, Finance, Regional teams, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of operational master data, including routes, locations, tariffs, rate agreements, vendor information, and cost structures.
- Maintain operational reports, dashboards, statistics, and supporting data for management review and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with reporting timelines, data governance standards, and internal requirements.
- Provide operational analysis, insights, and recommendations to support management decisions, projects, and business cases.
- Support the Cost Control function by strengthening cost visibility, performance tracking, and cost-saving follow-up across the Area.
- Provide analysis on cost trends, variances, vendor costs, disputes, rebates, claims, and other cost-related action items.
- Support cost performance discussions with Regional teams through accurate data, clear insights, structured follow-up, and management reporting.
- Translate cost data into actionable recommendations to improve cost efficiency, reduce leakage, and support decision-making.
- Provide oversight of supplier management and procurement activities within the Area, ensuring strong governance and alignment with operational priorities.
- Support vendor performance management by tracking supplier performance, cost, service quality, contract matters, and required escalations.
- Support Procurement with vendor data, volume statistics, turnover analysis, operational input, and cost information across key supplier categories.
- Maintain contracts, rate agreements, rebate files, and procurement-related repositories for the Area.
- Support supplier review discussions with performance data, cost analysis, contract visibility, and operational feedback.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational, financial, vendor, and cost-related data.
- Good understanding of liner shipping operations, cost drivers, supplier management, procurement processes, tariffs, and pricing methodologies.
- Experience in reporting, dashboards, data analysis, management reporting, and working with large data sets.
- Ability to identify trends, highlight risks, and translate data into clear management recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across Operations, Cost Control, Procurement, Finance, Regional teams, and vendors.
- Confident in supporting performance discussions with senior stakeholders through structured data, clear insights, and follow-up.
- Experience with analytical tools, reporting platforms, data visualization, or advanced Excel.
- Advanced analytics knowledge would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, with strong spoken and written English.
- Solid experience with SAP/Qliksense
