As a Lead Economy Engineer at Bungie, you will help design and build Marathon's player pursuit engine. You’ll be involved in both hiring and managing engineering talent. You will collaborate closely with creative partners, build the features that enable our game's loot and economy model, and craft the game's long term player pursuits. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineering leader for the economic model and player pursuits of Marathon
  • Lead by example by building and maintaining production-quality code using C++
  • Collaborate with design leads to develop technical solutions for their desired player experiences
  • Directly manage up to three engineering individual contributors, providing support, technical mentorship, constructive feedback and career development coaching
  • Be an owner, decision-maker, or guide for technical features in player pursuits

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience designing and building networked game systems
  • Experience leading (managing, mentoring, or guiding) engineers through planning, developing, and shipping
  • Effectively communicate with fellow engineers to jointly design, write, and review code, by driving team consensus and alignment
  • Effectively write clear, concise and accurate technical documentation and email communication, with the ability to summarize complex topics and achieve alignment across multiple teams
  • Ability to communicate with customers from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience programming in C#
  • Experience working on a live service game
  • Experience with online services technologies. E.g. Kubernetes, mongo DB
Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly). 
This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range
$189,000$223,000 USD

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees who are located outside of a Bungie approved state will need to establish residency in an approved state within 45 days of their start date. Contractors will follow a digital first approach adhering to the location guidelines agreed upon by our third-party employer/vendor and Bungie.
