Job DescriptionThe Asia Marketing and Communications team is a high-performing and talented team that drives best practice and expertise across all aspects of marketing and communications including brand and profile, digital and social media, internal and external communications and events.
We play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of our Asia Turner & Townsend business and take pride in delivering engaging, high quality and insight-based marketing and communication in service of our ambitious growth strategy.
To support continued business growth in our region, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing and Communications Manager who will provide active support to the brand, marketing, communications and digital marketing plan and initiatives in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR. This role will report to the Head of Marketing and Communications in Asia and will primarily focus on strengthening our brand and profile in the region through the effective execution of our marketing and communications strategy in the market.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to develop campaigns that support the marketing plan and actively contribute to marketing strategies. This individual must be able to work with and influence senior stakeholders and create concise and well-written narratives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will also be required to work with third party suppliers including agencies, creative suites and partner organisations. Specific responsibilities include:
Strategy and best practice:
- Develop and execute an annual marketing plan and calendar for Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR.
- Support new campaigns and initiatives, including scoping, milestone management, stakeholder engagement, governance, promotion, launch and close out/ROI.
- Evaluate business cases and requests for marketing spend and support, as aligned with the marketing plan.
- Be a brand custodian, driving brand compliance, understanding and training within the marketing team, and broader business.
- Support Asia-wide and global marketing and communications initiatives, as required.
External communications
- Support external communications activity including award submissions, social media, collateral, and associated profile-raising activities, ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels.
- Manage media relations, including cultivating relationships with journalists, responding to media inquiries, and preparing press releases, articles, and other public-facing materials.
- Deliver flagship communications campaigns in the market to increase awareness of our brand.
- Develop and execute approved external event and conference activities that drive ROI and target market engagement.
- Leverage regional sponsorships and memberships to maximize engagement and measure ROI.
Internal communications:
- Create engaging content for a variety of communications channels, including emails, intranet, newsletters and internal events.
- Work in partnership with the global and regional Internal Communications team to localise any global internal communications campaigns, ensuring all activities are fit for market while adhering to brand guidelines.
Reporting:
- Undertake tracking to demonstrate the ROI of all communications activities.
- Produce and/or contribute to Board reports and leadership reporting, as required.
- Relevant degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Journalism, English or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience across corporate marketing/communications. Familiarity with construction consultancy, advisory, legal, architecture, or real estate industries is desirable but not essential.
- Practical experience of how professional service organizations build brand and win work; and of the marketing approaches that underpin them.
Essential skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate and work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Native or business-fluent Mandarin Chinese and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Cantonese proficiency is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of the cultural, business and communications environments across the region, with the ability to tailor strategies, messaging and content to local audiences.
- Strong knowledge of the media landscape in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, including experience engaging with key business, trade and mainstream media outlets across these markets.
- Demonstrated expertise in the social and digital media ecosystems of Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, including an understanding of market-specific platforms, channels, audience behaviours and engagement strategies.
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing and communications programmes that drive brand awareness, thought leadership, client engagement and business growth across the region.
- Strong understanding of how to engage clients, prospects and industry stakeholders in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR through targeted content, events, campaigns and relationship-building initiatives.
- Proven ability to navigate differing market dynamics, regulatory considerations and stakeholder expectations across Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR.
- Well-established network of media, industry and business contacts in one or more of these markets, with the ability to build and maintain influential external relationships.
