We specialize in enterprise-class Application Hosting, Managed Services, and Cloud Solutions, with deep expertise in compliance, security, and performance. Our focus is simple: make the complex manageable and deliver technology that works - reliably, securely, and at scale.

As a Network Support Engineer, you'll serve as a highly skilled technical resource within Summit's Technical Support organization. You'll resolve highly complex network-related issues, perform advanced technical analysis, execute approved changes and maintenance activities, and provide technical guidance across the support organization.

This role represents a deeper technical specialization within Technical Support. Success comes from combining advanced troubleshooting expertise with sound judgment, operational ownership, and a commitment to delivering positive customer outcomes.

What You’ll Do:
  • Resolve highly complex network-related incidents and service requests.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics across routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, connectivity, and network performance.
  • Analyze recurring issues and contribute to root cause investigations.
  • Execute approved maintenance activities, operational changes, and recovery efforts.
  • Support customer migrations, infrastructure changes, and operational initiatives as assigned.
  • Partner with Engineering, Platform, NOC, and other technical teams on complex issues and customer-impacting events.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Technical Support Technicians and Network Support Specialists.
  • Review troubleshooting efforts and help improve issue quality, documentation, and technical consistency.
  • Create and maintain advanced technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service reliability, and support effectiveness.
  • Contribute to incident response activities and post-incident reviews.

What You’ll Deliver:
  • High-quality resolution of complex network-related issues.
  • Strong technical ownership and accountability.
  • Effective troubleshooting that minimizes customer impact and reduces time to resolution.
  • Accurate technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Positive customer experiences during complex technical situations.
  • Improved network stability and operational effectiveness.
  • Technical guidance that strengthens the broader Technical Support organization.
  • Contributions to recurring issue reduction and continuous improvement efforts.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:
  • Have extensive experience supporting network infrastructure within managed services, hosting, cloud, or enterprise environments.
  • Enjoy solving difficult technical problems and identifying practical solutions.
  • Have advanced knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and networking technologies.
  • Can independently manage highly complex technical situations.
  • Enjoy mentoring others and sharing technical expertise.
  • Communicate effectively with both customers and technical teams.
  • Take ownership of technical challenges and drive them through resolution.
  • Balance technical depth with customer-focused service delivery.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
