Architect the Team Transforming Financial Inclusion
The Prelim team is seeking a People & Talent Lead to join our rapidly growing fully remote US team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to help increase access to banking for millions of people. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing our talent strategy, cultivating our company culture, and building scalable people systems that support our remote-first environment.
As the People & Talent Lead at Prelim, you will be the strategic architect of our organizational growth: developing talent acquisition frameworks, designing employee experience initiatives, and creating systems that enable our company to scale efficiently. Working directly with our founding team, you'll help shape the future of our organization as we continue our 2x year over year growth.
Experience with AI-powered recruiting tools or willingness to experiment with emerging people tech
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the guardian and architect of Prelim's culture as we scale from 20 to 100+ team members, ensuring our values and collaborative spirit remain strong through rapid growth
- Design and implement comprehensive talent strategy that prioritizes cultural fit alongside technical skills, including proactive outbound recruiting and strategic campus partnerships
- Build exceptional candidate experience that reflects our company values from initial touchpoint through offer acceptance, using automation to personalize at scale
- Create scalable onboarding systems that deeply integrate new team members into our culture, mission, and workflows while maintaining the personal touch that defines us
- Develop performance and culture frameworks that foster career growth, reinforce our values, and align individual development with business objectives
- Establish company-wide learning initiatives across all departments (product, compliance, engineering, security) that strengthen both skills and cultural connection
- Leverage automation and AI tools to streamline recruiting workflows and administrative processes, freeing up time for high-touch cultural work and strategic relationship building
- Partner with leadership to enhance recruiting strategies that identify candidates who will thrive in and contribute to our remote-first, mission-driven environment
- Build knowledge infrastructure and cultural rituals that support long-term employee success, retention, and cultural continuity as we grow
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of talent acquisition and people operations experience, preferably at high-growth startups or technology companies
- Proficiency with automation tools (Zapier, Airtable, Python scripting, or similar) to eliminate repetitive tasks
- Proven track record scaling teams from 20-100+ people in fast-paced environments
- Experience with technical recruiting across engineering, product, security, and other specialized roles
- Proficiency with modern recruiting tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, sourcing tools, candidate management systems)
- Strong understanding of employment law, compliance requirements, and remote work regulations
- Experience building company culture and onboarding programs in remote-first environments
- You approach people challenges strategically, balancing candidate experience with business needs and scaling requirements
- You have exceptional communication skills and can build relationships with candidates, employees, and leadership across all levels
- You're passionate about talent development and creating environments where people can grow and thrive
- You're self-directed and proactive, comfortable taking ownership of initiatives in a fast-moving startup environment
- You're excited about using technology to democratize access to banking and passionate about using that same innovative mindset to revolutionize how we build teams
