About NexHealth

Our healthcare system remains frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, instant meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you still have to call to schedule a doctor’s appointment and fill out a clipboard in the waiting room?

NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare by connecting patients, providers, and developers. We’re building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.

  • Founded: 2017
  • Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
  • Funding: $177M Series C
  • Employees: 200+
  • Trusted by tens of thousands of providers and hundreds of health-tech developers — forging the infrastructure layer that modern healthcare needs

About the Role

As a People Operations Partner, you will own and scale the programs, systems, and processes that power the employee experience at NexHealth. This role is based in San Francisco with hybrid flexibility, though we’re open to strong remote candidates across the U.S.

Reporting to the COO, you’ll manage the backbone of our people infrastructure—spanning HR systems, compliance, benefits, and the full employee lifecycle. This is a senior individual contributor role with potential to evolve into a people leadership position as the function grows. You’ll architect scalable processes, enable data-informed decision-making, and build the connective tissue between People, Finance, and Leadership to ensure NexHealth grows responsibly, efficiently, and in alignment with our culture and operating principles.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and scale HR infrastructure: Design, implement, and manage the systems and policies that govern the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding. Ensure every process is structured for accuracy, compliance, and scalability as we grow.
  • Lead People Operations programs: Oversee day-to-day HR operations including employee transitions, immigration, and compliance tracking. Manage HR policies, process documentation, and people data integrity across Rippling and Greenhouse.
  • Ensure compliance and governance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. Partner with external counsel and auditors as needed to ensure adherence to all requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead total rewards operations: Oversee benefits administration and open enrollment. Support compensation programs and operations, including job leveling, benchmarking, offers, equity workflows, and compensation cycle readiness.
  • Drive people analytics and insights: Partner with Talent Operations to develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to track headcount, retention, engagement, and performance. Translate data into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions across the company.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align people and business priorities: Work closely with Talent and IT to ensure seamless integration of people, systems, and structure. Serve as the operational glue between People, Talent, and Business functions.
  • Champion the employee experience: Build programs that reinforce clarity, consistency, and operational excellence. Create efficient processes that allow Nexers to focus on impact, not administration.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or Total Rewards within a high-growth tech environment
  • Deep understanding of HR systems, compliance, and benefits operations; compensation experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of U.S. employment law and multi-state compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with HR tech (Rippling, Greenhouse, or comparable HRIS and ATS)
  • High degree of analytical capability—able to design dashboards and interpret people data
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including cross-functional partnership
  • High ownership, structured thinking, and operational rigor; detail-oriented without losing sight of scale
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP/PHR preferred

Compensation

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of NexHealth’s total compensation package for employees. Other benefits may include stock options, an unlimited paid time off policy, and up to 100% coverage on medical, vision and dental insurance.

  • Base Salary Range: $120,000 – $170,000 USD per year (based on experience and location)
  • Equity: Competitive stock options

Benefits

  • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision (up to 100% covered)
  • 401K and commuter benefits
  • Flexible PTO
  • High-impact work that directly improves the healthcare experience for millions

Our Values

  • Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
  • Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
  • Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
  • Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
  • Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
  • Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities to participate in the application or interview process. Contact [email protected] to request assistance.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
