About Us

Office Hours is an on-demand expert network that connects leading organizations with trusted experts across various knowledge domains. Experts earn income by sharing their knowledge through advisory work, projects, and AI model training. Our platform handles the complexities behind the scenes— screening, compliance, scheduling, and payments—so knowledge sharing stays focused on meaningful insights and real impact.

We're a hyper-growth and profitable company, quickly expanding our expert network, launching new offices, and new products. We are headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Brooklyn and Bangalore. Our customers include the fastest-growing digital health companies, technology companies, institutional investment firms, consulting firms and AI Labs. We are backed by top marketplace investors and operators of companies like DoorDash, Airbnb, Affirm.

What we believe

Human knowledge is the world's most valuable asset. And yet, despite being more interconnected than ever, most knowledge still remains stuck in our heads, inaccessible and underutilized. Our vision is to make human knowledge easily accessible and infinitely scalable by building tools for the new age knowledge economy.

About the role

As a Senior Platform Engineer at Office Hours, you'll own the infrastructure and platform that power our marketplace and the products our experts and customers depend on every day. Your focus will be keeping our systems reliable, observable, secure, and easy to operate—with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and operational excellence.

This is a high-ownership role on a fast-growing, high-leverage team. You'll partner closely with product and platform engineers to reduce operational toil, harden our security posture, and give teams the confidence to ship quickly and safely as we scale.

What you'll do
  • Cloud & Kubernetes: Run and scale production AWS and EKS — cluster lifecycle, autoscaling, and the platform add-ons that keep it healthy (ingress, DNS, certificates, secrets).

  • Infrastructure as Code: Manage cloud and cluster configuration declaratively with Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, eksctl and GitOps.

  • CI/CD & GitOps: Ship through GitHub Actions and GitOps (Argo CD / Flux), with automated build, test, and dependency gating.

  • Security & access: SAST/DAST scanning, secrets management, and least-privilege IAM (IRSA), plus routine dependency and vulnerability remediation.

  • Observability: Own metrics, logs, and traces across Datadog, and Sentry.

  • Data & messaging: Operate PostgreSQL, MongoDB / Atlas, OpenSearch / Elasticsearch, and Temporal.

  • Languages & tooling: Build automation and internal tooling in Python, Bash, Go, and Node.js / TypeScript; containerize with Docker.

What you bring
  • Cloud & Kubernetes: 5+ years running AWS and Kubernetes in production (EKS preferred), including platform add-ons and AWS-native integration.

  • IaC & GitOps: Strong with Terraform and Kubernetes manifests (Helm, Kustomize), plus GitOps Actions, plus GitOps delivery (Argo CD and/or Flux).

  • Security mindset: SAST/DAST, secrets management, least-privilege IAM, and vulnerability management as routine work.

  • Observability: Metrics, logs, and traces with Datadog, Sentry, or equivalents.

  • Programming: Node.js / TypeScript and Python, plus Bash scripting on Linux.

  • Data systems: PostgreSQL and MongoDB; messaging/workflows with Temporal.

  • Version control & collaboration: Git / GitHub workflows and a documentation-first, async communication style.

  • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing.

Bonus experience
  • AI / ML infrastructure (model-training pipelines, vector search)

  • Cloud cost and capacity management at scale

  • Compliance-sensitive environments (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)

Pay Transparency Notice

Full-time offers include base salary, equity, and benefits.

Pay range: $160,000-$180,000 based on seniority, relevant experience and location

This role can be fully remote or hybrid out of our SF or NYC offices

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that some candidates, especially underrepresented groups such as women and people of color, are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Office Hours we believe in building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you're excited about this role but don't meet every qualification in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. You could still be the right candidate for this or other roles at Office Hours!

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
