The Enterprise Information Security (EIS) team is responsible for cybersecurity across our organization. We support our business and members by reducing risk, rapidly responding to threats, focusing on business resiliency and securing new acquisitions.
Position Summary
The M&A Cybersecurity Due Diligence team within Optum Technology is dedicated to evaluating and mitigating cybersecurity risk across all mergers, acquisitions, and enterprise integration efforts. Our goal is to enable informed strategic acquisition decisions while protecting enterprise infrastructure, data, and the broader healthcare ecosystem. In this role, you will serve as a strategic leader driving complex, cross-functional due diligence initiatives, partnering closely with cybersecurity architects, engineers, legal counsel, and business leaders to translate technical security insights into clear, executive-ready risk recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drive complex, cross-functional cybersecurity due diligence programs from initiation through completion across the M&A lifecycle
  • Partner closely with cybersecurity architects, engineers, legal, infrastructure, enterprise technology, and business leaders to coordinate assessment activities and align risk findings
  • Translate highly technical cybersecurity, enterprise IT, and infrastructure concepts into concise, executive-level communications and decision frameworks
  • Develop executive reporting, dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, and status communications to provide clear visibility into M&A cybersecurity risks
  • Facilitate technical decision-making and risk governance across diverse stakeholder groups to enable informed acquisition and integration decisions
  • Establish repeatable processes, frameworks, and visual narratives that improve the efficiency, quality, and speed of M&A cybersecurity assessments
  • Proactively identify strategic risks, dependency conflicts, and operational bottlenecks, establishing structure and clarity in ambiguous environments

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience leading large, complex, cross-functional technical programs or cybersecurity initiatives from initiation through completion
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical programs involving enterprise IT, cloud technologies, infrastructure, software engineering, or cybersecurity
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating technical decision-making and presenting complex technical topics to executive leadership
  • 3+ years of experience developing program governance structures, executive reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and status communications
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing formal program management methodologies, dependency management, and risk management frameworks in fast-paced environments
  • Proven advanced presentation design and data visualization skills, including process mapping, infographics, architecture diagrams, and visual storytelling

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Professional program management or cybersecurity certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CISSP, Security+, CISM, CCSP)
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or enterprise integration programs
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity due diligence processes and acquisition risk assessments
  • Knowledge of core cybersecurity domains, including Identity & Access Management, Network Security, Cloud Security, Endpoint Security, Data Protection, Vulnerability Management, and Security Operations
  • Familiarity with common cybersecurity and risk frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, SOC 2)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
