Advertising, meet the Un-carrier. We are standing up for Consumers and Advertisers to redefine an industry. Again. Ever feel like relevant, engaging, and safe advertising is an impossible ask? We are working to change that by building an advertising platform that allows brands and advertising agencies to engage real audiences with a customer-centric, privacy first approach.

This is not a product internal to T-Mobile; but one that is used by all the major advertising agencies in the United States and many of the top consumer product brands. Our team builds the enabling technology behind this revolution. We are a fast-moving team that builds, runs, and operates the T-Mobile Advertising Solutions platforms, including our audience building, rideshare, and retail media network solutions.
As a Principal Engineer, you’ll help design, build, and scale production-grade systems that span the frontend, back-end, and cloud infrastructure. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact features and capabilities in a fast-paced, AdTech-driven environment.
You’ll contribute meaningfully to architecture discussions, write clean, maintainable code, and take ownership of key components across the stack. While this is not a management role, you’ll help elevate the team through high-quality execution and strong engineering practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain full stack solutions including modern web front ends, APIs, and backend services.

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making in a collaborative environment.

  • Work across the software lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, and support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and operations to deliver key features.

  • Implement engineering best practices like CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and observability.

  • Ensure software is performant, secure, and scalable across a growing platform.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Engineering (Required)

Work Experience:

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in full stack software development, including both front end and back-end systems

  • Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Solid knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) and backend technologies (Node.js, Python, or Java)

  • Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and distributed systems

  • Practical experience with databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including design and query optimization

  • Exposure to DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, version control, and containerization (e.g., Docker)

  • Understanding of software engineering best practices: clean code, testing, performance tuning

  • Strong problem-solving skills and an action-oriented mindset—comfortable navigating ambiguity and delivering results

Nice to Have (Not Required):

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

  • Familiarity with security and privacy-forward application design

  • Background in advertising technology or data-intensive platforms

    • At least 18 years of age
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States

    Key Facts About Seattle Tech

    • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
    • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
    • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
    • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
