Job responsibilities
Opportunity
The Principal Product Manager for the Canton Network Ecosystem is the primary point of contact between Digital Asset's product and engineering organizations and the Canton Network ecosystem. You will own Digital Asset's contributions to community operations, governance facilitation, and cross-team coordination — ensuring that the needs of the ecosystem are understood, documented, and routed to the right teams, and that Digital Asset's plans and contributions are visible, coherent, and well-understood by the community.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Canton Network Ecosystem. You will work as a peer alongside product managers responsible for Splice, Wallets, SDKs, dApps, and the Canton protocol.

Responsibilities
  • Ecosystem Intelligence and Cross-Team Coordination

    • Identify emerging needs and opportunities across the ecosystem, characterize and document them, and route them to the appropriate product and engineering teams within Digital Asset.

    • Maintain a working understanding of Digital Asset's product roadmaps sufficient to recognize when a community proposal is already covered by or could fit with planned work.

    • Help form special interest groups around technical topics drawing community interest, and facilitate the development of technical strategy, design, and coordinated development work across participants.

    • Influence and coordinate across Digital Asset's product roadmaps to ensure they remain visible and coherent to the community.

  • Canton Foundation Contributions

    • Serve as a contributing member of the Operations subcommittee of the Canton Foundation's Technology & Operations committee.

    • Facilitate operational votes by Super Validator node operators and document operational guidelines based on vote outcomes.

    • Coordinate Digital Asset's pipeline of proposals to the Canton Foundation, and help vet, document, and outline key issues in grant proposals from both DA and the broader community.

    • Coordinate and document work and payment splits on joint grant proposals between Digital Asset and ecosystem partners.

  • Operational Coordination

    • Coordinate network upgrade rollouts and release communications across the Super Validator and Validator community.

    • Take feedback from operators on improvements to network operations and governance processes.

  • Community Operations and Engagement

    • Host weekly Super Validator operator meetings, including preparing and validating agendas in advance.

    • Administer shared communications systems (Slack channels, mailing lists, forums) in coordination with Canton Foundation staff and Super Validator representatives.

    • Coordinate how Digital Asset staff answers questions and contributes to problem-solving across community channels.

    • Announce network upgrades, releases, and important operational changes to the validator community.

    • Identify documentation gaps from community feedback and improve those documents directly.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
