Overview

Microsoft Advertising is looking for a Principal Product Manager to own two increasingly important ways developers and AI agents interact with our advertising platform: Microsoft Ads API and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) experience.

Advertising is moving beyond graphical user interfaces. Advertisers, agencies, partners, developers, and increasingly AI agents need programmatic ways to create, understand, optimize, and manage advertising campaigns. We’re the team behind the infrastructure that powers the Microsoft Advertising buying experience, and we’re looking for a PM who wants to help define it. You’ll take ownership of our API and MCP roadmap, work at the intersection of advertising, developer platforms, and AI agents, with the opportunity to shape both the product and the team.

In this role, you will help design the interface between Microsoft Advertising and the next generation of software. You will own the product strategy and roadmap for our MCP and API experiences, working across engineering, product, design, partner teams, and customers to make Microsoft Advertising easier to build on and easier for agents to use.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals.

AI Experiences employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft Hub in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
