Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
As a Principal Program Manager on our Market Delivery program management team, you will be leading some of our biggest, most complex and impactful delivery efforts, including new product and/or complex feature launches, integrations and more, across our suite of products (including Confluence, Trello and Loom). Partnering closely with product management, Engineering, Design, Marketing, sales and other functions, you will lead the planning, organization, tracking and ultimately delivery efforts, ensuring we deliver our best new capabilities to our customers on time, with quality.
As such, you provide unique perspective and insights across every aspect of our internal tools, processes, rituals and pursue opportunities to deliver with more predictability, speed and quality at every turn. This is an incredible opportunity to have a great, unique, strategic as well as tactical impact on the work we deliver and HOW we deliver it.
In this role you will:

  • Be a leader in your space, partner with product management, design, engineering, and other cross functional teams to reliably deliver programs and our most complex features and capabilities to customers
  • Drive definition, success criteria and delivery plans for programs and drive clarity on achievable outcomes, collaborating with senior leaders to ensure impact is achieved for top-level goals.
  • Identify risks and dependencies; ensure mitigations are in place, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration across all functional leads and stakeholders, and across departments.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with cross-craft leaders to drive sustained improvements and clock-speed across your delivery area.
  • Influence, from team members up to senior leaders as needed to drive positive impact, by developing insights, proactively identifying problems and presenting recommendations focused on establishing greater predictability, accelerating delivery while maintaining the highest levels of quality.
  • Drive the implementation of those recommendations where appropriate, always seeking to measure and understand their impact, and relentlessly iterating to achieve greater/faster outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently, able to synthesize complex program information, making it actionable for team members and senior leaders alike.
  • Innovate and improve with new ways of working, actively share my work and knowledge to benefit work done across groups, hence helping Atlassian grow and improve.

On your first day, we'll expect you have:

  • Experience in consumer-facing businesses, technology, and design.
  • Strong product strategy and technology experience and acumen, able to partner closely and deeply with product managers, engineering managers and more to deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability of shipping products at scale having overcome a variety of challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can simplify complex topics
  • Exceptional leadership, influencing and presentation skills that expand your influence beyond your team and across your org.
  • Expertise in using program management tools, and familiarity with Atlassian products preferred
  • Up to 10% travel required
