As a Principal Project Manager – Telecommunications, Media, and Technology, you help customers reimagine the future of work while partnering with them to drive frontier transformation. In this role, you join the Industry Solutions Delivery team in Microsoft Frontier Company, where you collaborate closely with customers to shape their transformation agenda and turn ambitious ideas into measurable outcomes. You work with senior stakeholders to align on vision, orchestrate delivery across complex workstreams, and ensure each engagement moves customers closer to their strategic goals.

You drive project initiation and execution for large, complex customer programs by aligning scope, resources, and schedules to customer priorities. You represent the customer’s voice inside Microsoft, proactively managing risks and issues, building trust through accountability, and ensuring delivery quality, security, and financial performance across your portfolio. You lead cross-functional teams and partner ecosystems, using your expertise in project management and industry to ensure projects land successfully and create lasting value for customers. You invite others to join you in building transformative solutions that define what is next for Telco, Media, and Technology customers.

Responsibilities
  • Drive project initiation and planning for large, complex customer projects by securing delivery resources, assigning them across workstreams, and creating detailed work breakdown structures in alignment with customer plans.
  • Lead end-to-end project planning and execution with urgency to accelerate customer time to value, balancing scope, resources, schedule, quality, and security to deliver predictable outcomes for high-visibility engagements.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence and AI-assisted development in project execution to responsibly scale output, accelerate delivery, and  improve outcomes for customers.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues across large, complex projects by evaluating trends, defining mitigation strategies, and ensuring completion of required information security risk assessments and related reviews.
  • Lead customer and partner contracting processes, including onboarding partner resources, monitoring contract amendments, delivery acceptance, proof of delivery, and invoicing, while ensuring adherence to security and data governance standards.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountabilities with project team members and stakeholders, leading internal and external kick-off meetings and engaging a broad set of internal and external stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Navigate ambiguous business challenges, make decisions that drive execution, and apply sound judgment to solve problems.
  • Harvest existing IP for re-use, drive incremental improvement to delivery assets, and share learnings with peers.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 5+ years experience in project management OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years direct industry experience in Telecommunications, Media or Hyperscaler/ISVs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 12+ years experience in project management OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years financial management experience.
  • Agile certification, Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Professional Scrum Master One (PSM1) certification.
  • 2+ years technical program management and hypervelocity engineering experience

Consulting Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,500 - $214,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $154,500 - $231,700 per year.
