Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large scale distributed software services and solutions.
  • Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews.
  • System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, and leverage of data/telemetry to make decisions.
  • Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored, and reusable.
  • Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
  • Design distributed systems that optimize performance, availability, cost, and resource utilization for demanding AI workloads.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
  • 6+ years of experience in leading the architecture, design, implement, and shipping of cloud services or software products.
  • Demonstrated passion for emerging technologies, with the ability to quickly understand and apply advancements in AI infrastructure.
  • Broad experience and track record of working across teams to deliver shared solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up, understand complex problems, and create solutions across many products.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and shipping cloud services or software products.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
