As a Principal Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be responsible for acting as the subject matter expert by providing technical guidance, vision, and leadership on critical software development projects. You will take ownership of technical solutions, drive innovation, and ensure the highest standards of quality and performance. You will lead initiatives to enhance development processes, tools, and methodologies for increased efficiency and effectiveness. You will report directly to our and you'll work out of our location on a work schedule. In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge software solutions that address some of the world's most critical challenges. You will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the organization, mentor teams, and drive innovation to deliver world-class software solutions. Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead design, development, and delivery of complex software projects 
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the software development lifecycle 
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide technical input into strategic planning and decision-making 
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics 
  • 15+ years of experience leading software development projects 
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages (C, C++, OpenGL, Embedded Systems) 
  • Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines

  • Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other advanced engineering degrees 
  • Excellent problem-solving capability 
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning
