Job Description:

Perkins Coie LLP is a leading international law firm and has been listed on Fortune’s Best Places to Work for 24 consecutive years.  We have created a dynamic firm culture that is based on collaboration, dedication to serving our clients, and mutual respect.  We are regularly recognized for a workplace culture where all employees have the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential.

This is an opportunity to work closely with the Firm’s Trust & Estate Planning practice handling all aspects of transactions involving the transfer and acquisition of real and personal property in connection with estate planning projects.  The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the acquisition and disposition of real property, reviewing real estate documents for risk analysis, drafting for tax-efficient structuring and tax implications, handling title and survey matters, and in preparing formation and authority documents for beneficiaries or acquiring parties.  Experience handling real property held in trusts or other investment vehicles is a plus.  It is anticipated that this attorney will also provide transactional support to other Real Estate and Land Use clients, especially in local counsel review and opinion work, and to the Private Client Services group generally.  Excellent academic credentials, strong references, and superb written and oral communication skills are required.  Admission in Washington is also required.

This is an hourly non-partnership track position.  Candidates seeking a flexible work schedule are encouraged to apply.  We offer a competitive compensation structure and a uniquely collegial environment where you will be part of a cooperative and supportive team.  As an Am Law 50 firm and one of the most prestigious law firms on the West Coast, this is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative working environment and to handle sophisticated matters at both a local and a national level.  Follow our LinkedIn page or the Firm Overview on our website for more information.

To be considered, please submit your cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a brief writing sample. Principals Only.

Compensation is approximately $155 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
