  • Design intuitive user experiences for web and mobile applications that align with business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define product requirements and deliver user-centered solutions.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Create user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.

  • Translate complex business processes into simple, efficient, and scalable user experiences.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure high-quality implementation of design specifications.

  • Advocate for accessibility, usability, and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Present and communicate design concepts, rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Visual Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or related roles.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design processes and successful digital product outcomes.
  • Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience collaborating within Agile product development environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing eCommerce applications or platforms, including product discovery, search, navigation, shopping cart, checkout, order management, account management, or marketplace experiences.
  • Experience with B2B eCommerce platforms involving complex workflows, business purchasing journeys, pricing models, catalogs, procurement processes, or customer account hierarchies.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and data-driven design methodologies.
  • Experience designing responsive applications across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of design systems, component-based design, and accessibility standards.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with marketplace, wholesale, supply chain, procurement, or distribution platforms.
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and Lean UX methodologies.
  • Experience conducting user interviews and customer discovery workshops.
  • Knowledge of customer journey mapping and product experimentation frameworks.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
