The Product Development Manager will work with all business areas to facilitate and coordinate the implementation of new loan programs and products. They will ensure all business area needs, including system’s needs are met at time of program/product rollout. Additionally, the Product Development Manager will maintain loan program guidelines and support investor and agency relationships, including liaison responsibilities with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Mortgage Insurance Companies, and other Secondary Market functions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Researching: Analyzing industry trends and business needs and identifying product opportunities
- Collaborating: Working with a project manager and various business units to define product features and scope
- Designing: Developing program requirements and product features and documenting program requirements
- Evaluating: Reviewing product performance, pricing, and competitive comparisons
- Presenting: Sharing findings with senior management
- Work with business area leaders to determine new product impact to each area
- Work with business area leaders to identify specific tasks and any system requirements needed to roll out each new product
- Work with a shared-resource project manager to establish product rollout timelines based on business area needs and system enhancement requirements
- Maintain and foster relationships with Mortgage Insurance (MI) providers to support product development, guideline alignment, and operational efficiency
- Serve as a primary operational liaison with Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs), including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, monitoring guideline updates, policy changes, and program initiatives
- Coordinate internal communication and implementation of GSE Selling Guide updates, announcements, and eligibility changes across impacted business units
- Manage and coordinate activities related to Fannie Mae Mortgage Origination Risk Assessment (MORA) audits, including preparation, documentation collection, cross-functional coordination, response tracking, and remediation follow-up
- Support organizational readiness and ongoing compliance with Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer Capability Requirements, coordinating periodic reviews, documentation maintenance, and internal stakeholder alignment
- Support agency oversight, operational governance, and risk management initiatives associated with maintaining GSE seller/servicer eligibility and approvals
- Partner with Secondary Marketing, Capital Markets, Credit Policy, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure agency program compliance and consistent product execution
- Facilitate resolution of findings, action items, and operational enhancements resulting from agency reviews, audits, or assessments
- Participate in periodic agency and MI performance discussions and operational reviews to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to assess, prioritize, and address competing product development requests
- Ability to develop and cultivate working relationships with internal and external business-to-business customers
- Experience with 1–4 unit residential mortgage lending programs and underwriting requirements including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines
- Strong analytical skills required
- Technical writing skills required
- 3+ years’ experience as a mortgage product manager or related position
- Proficiency with computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field preferred

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$31.73 - $38.46
This position is full-time; non-exempt.
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
