About the role

Thatch is rewiring how health benefits work. We build software that gives employees real control over how they use their benefits.

We're looking for a Product Manager to own one of the core product areas at Thatch. Product teams are organized around the people who use our product, whether that's members, employers, brokers, or partners. Each PM owns their surface end-to-end, from strategy and prioritization through execution and continuous improvement.

Some of the hardest problems we solve aren't just product problems. They're operational, financial, and technical. You'll work closely with engineering, design, operations, and go-to-market teams to build products that are simple for customers, reliable at scale, and easy to trust.

You'll own real customer problems, make difficult tradeoffs, and help shape one of the most important parts of the Thatch product over time.

What you will do
  • Own a product surface end-to-end, from strategy and prioritization through execution and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with engineering and design to build products that are intuitive, reliable, and scalable.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and improve the customer experience.
  • Work across engineering, operations, finance, support, and go-to-market teams to solve complex customer and business problems.
  • Turn ambiguous problems into clear plans and help the team make thoughtful product decisions.
What we're looking for
  • 4-6 years of product management experience with a track record of owning products or product areas end-to-end.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to reason through complex workflows, edge cases, and tradeoffs.
  • Technical fluency that allows you to partner effectively with engineers on architecture and implementation decisions.
  • Experience working across functions to solve operationally complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience that stands out
  • Building products in healthcare, benefits, fintech, or another regulated industry.
  • Owning billing, payments, ledgers, or other money movement systems.
  • Improving operational workflows or internal tools that reduce manual work or increase reliability.
  • Defining a strategy for an early or ambiguous product area.
How we work
  • We give people ownership and trust them to make good decisions.
  • We move quickly, learn from customers, and improve continuously.
  • We solve hard problems together, regardless of team or title.
  • We care more about building the right thing than following a perfect process.
What to expect

We aim to keep the process thoughtful, rigorous, and efficient. Most candidates complete it within three weeks. You can expect:

  • An initial conversation with a recruiter.
  • A conversation with the hiring manager, including a product review discussion.
  • Conversations with product, engineering, design, and cross-functional teammates.
  • A final conversation with executive leadership.
Estimated Compensation Range
$160,000$210,000 USD

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
