Description

About Realtor.com

At Realtor.com, we help millions of consumers connect with the right home and the right agent every day. We’re driving organic growth through innovation in search, content, and social sharing experiences that make home discovery more intuitive, accessible, and shareable.

We are seeking a technical and execution-focused Product Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of our core SEO/AEO and social sharing initiatives. In this role, your primary focus will be taking pre-defined organic search strategies—such as SEO platform optimizations, structured data implementations, and site performance enhancements—and translating them into executable roadmaps. You will own the execution, backlog management, Jira ticket creation, hands-on QA, and cross-functional task tracking to ensure optimizations are implemented flawlessly.

You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, marketing, and design teams to build and ship technical solutions at scale that enhance visibility, engagement, and content distribution across search engines and social platforms.

About the Role

As Product Manager, Organic Growth (SEO/AEO/Social Sharing), you will focus directly on executing technical SEO, site architecture improvements, UX enhancements, and search performance optimizations . You’ll partner closely with product managers, marketing managers, and engineering teams to directly influence over half of Realtor.com’s total traffic. While highly technical, this is fundamentally a core user acquisition role where you will write precise implementation requirements, audit performance, and deliver optimizations that fuel top-of-funnel reach.

This is a hands-on, highly execution-oriented role for a candidate who is passionate about search engine optimization and site performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute Technical SEO/AEO Initiatives: Own the operational execution roadmap (3–12 month horizon) for pre-defined technical SEO initiatives, e.g. indexability, rendering, canonicalization, and internal linking structures.
  • Jira & Spec Writing: Translate technical SEO requirements (such as JSON-LD schemas, edge redirection, sitemap generation, and page speed budgets) into clear Jira user stories with explicit acceptance criteria for engineering.
  • Technical Auditing & Quality Assurance: Perform hands-on UAT and technical validation in staging and production environments.
  • Task & Process Tracking: Organize and maintain daily task tracking, sprint backlogs, and technical dependencies across web platform engineering, analytics, and content teams.
  • Data & Search Performance Tracking: Utilize SQL, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog/Botify, and Snowflake/Tableau to track technical health KPIs, audit crawl behavior, and validate post-launch technical search performance.
  • AI & Automation for SEO Scale: Leverage AI models, prompt engineering, and automated workflows to streamline technical auditing, automate internal linking/schema generation, and scale technical optimizations across millions of real estate pages.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically in Technical SEO execution, technical search product management, or web technical auditing.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Deep Technical SEO Expertise: Deep understanding of server-side vs. client-side rendering, crawl budget optimization, XML sitemaps, HTTP status codes, canonicalization, structured data (schema.org), and Core Web Vitals.
  • Strong Agile & Jira Proficiency: Expertise in writing granular, developer-ready Jira tickets, defining technical acceptance criteria, and managing sprint backlogs.
  • Hands-on SEO & Audit Tooling: Mastery of technical SEO tools such as Botify, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, DeepCrawl/Lumar, and log analysis tools.
  • Data & Analytics Skills: Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau/Snowflake) to analyze search performance, indexation rates, and organic traffic drops.
  • Technical Communication: Excellent ability to explain complex search crawler behaviors and technical specifications to software engineers.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience contributing to marketing or growth platforms (e.g., CMS, marketing automation, experimentation frameworks).
  •  Familiarity with search engine APIs or social sharing integrations.
  • Prior experience in consumer internet or marketplace environments.
  • Curiosity about AI and automation in marketing technology or organic discovery.

What Success Looks Like

  • Flawless Delivery: On-time execution and delivery of SEO and organic performance initiatives from Jira ticket creation to release.
  • High Backlog Quality: Well-documented user stories, technical specifications, and task dependencies that allow engineering teams to execute efficiently without friction.
  • Proactive Tracking & Accountability: Clear visibility into initiative progress, active blocker management, and reliable post-launch metrics reporting.
  • Measurable impact on organic growth metrics through product improvements.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to ship and iterate features.
  • Clear product documentation, prioritization, and reporting for assigned initiatives.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
