The Product Security team is responsible for making sure Atlassian products and services are safe and secure. We are looking for an Product Security Engineer who thrives on working with development teams to secure their products across the entire software development lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include working to improve our vulnerability management program, provide technical guidance, promote automation, review designs and drive our security teams to equip the engineering partner teams with the latest tools, techniques and methodologies to build secure products by default. You must have a strong ability to work with colleagues to understand our current vulnerability management processes as it applies to our products and suggest / implement enhancements on our security infrastructure.
Since we work closely with our product engineering teams, the ability to read and understand code is very important.

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $154,500 - $206,000
Zone B: $139,100 - $185,400
Zone C: $128,300 - $171,000
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

- Demonstrated expertise and experience working in security-focused roles
- Experience with application security, especially web applications
- Experience in cloud security architecture and infrastructure
- Experience coding in Java, Python, or Go, and at least one scripting language
- Experience providing SME knowledge and guidance to stakeholders and engineering functions
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Published contributions to the security community
- Presentation experience at industry events
- Experience working with compliance, privacy, IT, networking or related functions
