About the Team
The Services Project Management Office (PMO) plays a critical role in delivering annual penetration testing services to our clients. This role sits within the Services PMO team and works in close partnership-via dotted-line reporting-with one or more Practice Managers who oversee the technical delivery teams.

About the Role
As a Project Manager at Rapid7, you will be responsible for overseeing the full services delivery lifecycle. This includes coordinating project schedules, aligning technical resources, managing client communications and expectations, and ensuring successful execution and closure of each engagement.

Success in this role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority. You'll need to understand resource capabilities, effectively balance stakeholder needs, and consistently drive projects to completion.
This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to significantly influence both client satisfaction and the growth trajectory of the Services organization.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Apply both conceptual understanding and practical expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Operate with a moderate level of guidance from peers and leadership, while proactively seeking to understand the broader business context.
  • Follow established processes and frameworks to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across teams and with clients.
  • Lead project meetings effectively, with occasional input or support from peers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle-from pre-sales handoff through delivery and closeout.
  • Drive project execution and contribute to achieving financial targets by efficiently scheduling and managing work across your project portfolio.
  • Ensure successful engagement delivery by aligning scope, timeline, budget, and resource planning.
  • Balance and manage team resources across billable work and internally directed activities.
  • Oversee a portfolio of complex projects and high-tier clients, often involving multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure a seamless, high-quality delivery experience for the client.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
Role-Specific Skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in a project management or operational role.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of tasks and projects in a matrix environment-you know how to get things done.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset; you approach challenges from multiple angles and don't default to the path of least resistance.
  • Comfortable and proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM systems; familiarity with FinancialForce is a plus but not required.
  • Solid understanding of core project management methodologies and principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. You can work independently while building strong partnerships with customers, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Critical Core Skills & Behaviors
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Confident and timely decision-making
  • Ownership and accountability in all areas of responsibility

Nice to Have
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or active engagement with the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Experience working in a services or consulting organization within the software or cybersecurity space
  • Familiarity with Rapid7's solutions and a passion for what we do

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech
