Headquartered in Durango, Colorado, with expanding operations in and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and upcoming growth in Seattle, Washington, Agile has achieved more than 40% year-over-year growth for the past three years, and our momentum continues to accelerate.

Position Summary 

Product Leads within Agile support the development and execution of our expanding integrated systems product line. This role is responsible for owning the product line, product definition, roadmap planning support, and technical coordination activities supporting both business development and program execution efforts.  The product lead for integrated systems will have a highly influential role, shaping how Agile designs, builds, and delivers integrated systems to our customers. 

The Product Lead works with technical fellows to define the technical roadmap for the product line. This role works across engineering, manufacturing, program management, and business development teams to refine product direction, establish technical requirements, and ensure alignment between customer mission needs and product capabilities. 

The Product Lead will own the technical volume for proposals and ensure the product line technical roadmap is reflected in proposal efforts.  The Product Lead will also own the technical product details used to support marking and sales, such as fly sheets.  This role will oversee the initial establishment of product requirements from proposal award through SRR, ensuring an effective handoff to the program systems engineering team. 

This Product Lead is expected to take ownership of assigned product areas, support technical planning activities, and help ensure products are positioned to meet long-term company and customer objectives.  Propulsion systems is a growing product area for Agile, this role will have the opportunity to establish strategic relationships with external parties, both customers and suppliers.  This position may require occasional travel, some on short notice, to provide direct customer support and technical assistance as well as burst capacity to satisfy customer needs. 


Location & Travel Requirements 

This role will contribute as part of the product engineering team with Agile and the ideal candidate would be permanently located in Durango, CO, or Seattle, WA.  Hybrid arrangements are less preferred but will be considered for exceptional individuals. Preference given toward candidates currently residing in Durango, CO or Seattle, WA region or are willing to relocate to Durango, CO.  Travel up to 50% may be required as part of the role.

Responsibilities 

  • Drive product definition and roadmap planning for in-space propulsion systems 
  • Lead technical activities related to business development and proposal efforts 
  • Define and maintain product-level technical requirements 
  • Lead requirements definition activities from contract award through SRR 
  • Develop technical execution plans with support from engineering and manufacturing teams 
  • Lead the technical transition of programs from business development into execution 
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers, programs, suppliers, and internal engineering teams 
  • Establish technical relationships with customers to align products with mission needs 
  • Participate in gated product development reviews and provide technical guidance for product evolution activities. 
  • Support trade studies, anomaly investigations, and product improvement efforts 
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between technical, schedule, and product objectives 
  • Think big and out of the box on propulsion system architectures, pushing the boundaries of technology for spacecraft propulsion capabilities  

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace or related technical field 
  • Proven experience with hypergolic rocket engine propulsion systems, including architecture, design, integration, test, and qualification 
  • Knowledge of propulsion feed systems, valves, regulators, catalyst beds, thermal management, structural considerations, and pulsed thruster operation 
  • Familiarity with propulsion system requirements development, verification, manufacturing, and qualification activities 
  • Familiarity with propulsion component supply chain partners 
  • Experience supporting proposal development and customer technical discussions 
  • Experience supporting gated design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) 
  • Experience with spacecraft propulsion interfaces, mission integration, trade studies, anomaly investigations, and technical risk reduction efforts 
  • Strong systems engineering including understanding mechanical, fluid, and thermal systems and interactions with control electronic architecture 
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and with customers to define mission objectives, CONOPS, and system requirements 
  • Experience with product development processes and technical decision-making for propulsion systems 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience developing strategic technical relationships with customers 
  • Experience with developing hardware in a manufacturing production environment 
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools 
  • Experience supporting failure investigations and root cause analysis 
  • Familiarity with NASA and/or other aerospace industry standards 
  • Clear and concise presentation and communication skills 
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques  

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Employment Type: Exempt
Salary: $156,000 - $210,000 Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.   
Work Schedule: Full Time
Travel Requirements: <50%
Location: Durango, CO or Seattle, WA (Hybrid) strong preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to Durango, CO

Seattle-based hybrid. Residency within commuting distance of Seattle is required. In-office expectations will be determined by business needs and may include a defined hybrid schedule.
