Psychiatrist

Provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, emergency services, treatment planning, patient assessments, and coordination with psychiatric nursing units. Develops and improves healthcare programs, monitors quality and compliance, follows applicable laws and hospital policies, participates in education and training, and collaborates across departments to support high-quality patient care.

Provides psychiatric consultations and direct mental health care at a U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. Responsibilities include patient care documentation, emergency response, on-call and callback coverage, participation in family advocacy and performance improvement programs, staff training, compliance with military healthcare standards, and operation of clinical information systems. The role requires board certification, recent psychiatry experience, current BLS certification, unrestricted licensure standing, U.S. citizenship, and successful background and suitability checks.

Provides psychiatric care to incarcerated patients, including evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, medication management, crisis intervention, suicide and violence risk assessments, documentation, and compliance activities. Collaborates with healthcare and correctional staff, supports mental health education and quality improvement, supervises or collaborates with psychiatric nurse practitioners, and provides phone coverage for psychiatric emergencies.
