What You’ll Do
- Build, maintain, and evolve a library of automated and manual test cases for customer-facing mobile and web applications.
- Perform integration and system testing across Zumiez digital platforms.
- Design and execute continuous regression testing and monitoring strategies across systems to ensure stability throughout ongoing releases.
- Work collaboratively with project and product managers to build testing strategies for cross-functional projects.
- Evaluate how failures in one system affect the entire customer journey; prioritize fixes based on customer and business impact.
- Lead initiatives to improve the QA process, including best practices for proactive defect identification and cross-platform consistency.
- Be an advocate for quality, raising issues and pushing back on problematic code or designs in a collaborative manner.
- Ad-hoc support and incident resolution as needed, including being on-call during peak selling periods to maximize business uptime.
- 5+ years of experience in QA development, automation, and proactive system monitoring.
- Proficient with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, BrowserStack, or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with web and mobile application architecture.
- Strong understanding of cross-platform testing (desktop, mobile web, mobile app).
- Demonstrated success implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) quality gates.
- Proven experience in proactively monitoring systems (using tools like New Relic) and suggesting preemptive improvements.
- Ability to think critically about end-to-end customer journeys and identify risks outside of traditional test case boundaries.
- Familiar with and capable of implementing industry standard QA methodologies and test case management.
- Collaborative: Able to work effectively with others while holding firm on quality standards.
- Change Agent: Comfortable forcing positive change by challenging assumptions and identifying areas for improvement.
- Strong Communicator: Skilled at articulating complex problems clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty pounds.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment. The noise level is generally moderate. Role is Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm plus nights and weekends, based on business needs.
