The Quality Control Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of integrated security systems throughout the project lifecycle. This position serves as an independent reviewer of bids, designs, submittals, system configurations, installation practices, testing procedures, and project documentation. They work closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Field Teams to identify deficiencies; ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards; and drive continuous improvement across all project phases.

With our dedicated management and technical team led by senior leadership whose core philosophy is consistently to deliver world-class service, we provide engineered design, installation, and maintenance of custom low-voltage systems for a diverse customer base located across the United States and abroad.The Quality Control Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of integrated security systems throughout the project lifecycle. This position serves as an independent reviewer of bids, designs, submittals, system configurations, installation practices, testing procedures, and project documentation. They work closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Field Teams to identify deficiencies; ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards; and drive continuous improvement across all project phases.
The Role
- Conducts detailed quality control reviews of estimates, proposals, submittals, and system designs to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, constructability, and adherence to contract requirements.
- Reviews project documentation for completeness, consistency, and compliance with EFS standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes and industry standards.
- Identifies design deficiencies, installation risks, scope gaps, and technical conflicts and recommends corrective actions prior to project execution.
- Performs independent peer reviews of engineering deliverables and provides documented feedback to Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams.
- Validates system designs against contract requirements, site conditions, manufacturer specifications, and established company standards.
- Reviews submittal packages including drawings, calculations, testing procedures, O&M manuals, warranty documentation, and closeout packages for quality and compliance.
- Performs onsite quality assurance inspections and installation audits to verify compliance with approved designs, manufacturer requirements, industry best practices, and EFS standards.
- Supports commissioning, acceptance testing, and system validation activities to ensure systems perform as designed and meet customer expectations.
- Verifies that deficiencies identified during inspections, testing, or customer reviews are properly documented, tracked, and resolved.
- Interfaces with Operations and Field Teams to provide technical guidance and quality-related support throughout project execution.
- Collaborates with Engineering and Operations leadership to develop corrective actions, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and improvement of engineering standards, quality control procedures, installation standards, and technical manuals.
- Assists with the development and delivery of technical training programs focused on quality standards, installation best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Evaluates installation methods, materials, and workmanship to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, reliability, and quality.
- Represents Evergreen Fire & Security in a professional manner while maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensures compliance with Evergreen Fire & Security safety policies and procedures.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and contractual requirements.
- Documents quality findings, inspection results, corrective actions, and project performance metrics.
- Communicates quality concerns, risks, and recommendations effectively to leadership, project teams, and customers.
The Necessities
- BA/BS in Engineering or related
- 5+ years of experience in low-voltage systems, physical security, or a related field (e.g., access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, fire alarm, or electrical)
- Strong knowledge of system layouts, wiring diagrams, and construction documents
- Great communication skills to interface with customers
- Strong collaboration skills
- Valid enhanced driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and continuing random background, drug, and MVR screenings
- Ability to receive a US government clearance.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
The Nice-To-Haves
- Strong field experience supporting installation, service, or commissioning of security or life safety systems
- Prior experience working on military installations

Salary is $85,000 - $110,000 for well-qualified candidates.
