We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join a vibrant research team focused on understanding how tumors damage the optic nerve and lead to blindness. Our laboratory uses a combination of novel genetically engineered mice and primary neuron and glial cells to determine the mechanisms underlying tumor-induced nerve injury, discover how such knowledge can be used to develop novel therapies for vision loss, and evaluate promising therapeutic agents for potential clinical trials.Job Description

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in biological sciences, or bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of in-person laboratory research experience.
- Solid foundation of knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, immunology, and neuroscience.
- Experience in mouse handling and tissue processing are strongly preferred.
- Ability to work with mice, including, but not limited to, husbandry, colony management, injections, perfusion, tissue collection, tissue embedding, cryosectioning, and immunofluorescence staining.
- Strong basic laboratory, organizational and record keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently, follow established protocol reliably, and communicate openly and effectively with laboratory staff and investigators.
- Experience with standard Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
